Is the renaissance of Sprint already in motion? We’ve already had the successful launch of the Palm Pre, will we follow that effort up with a Sprint Android launch?
Sprint CEO Dan Hesse, infamous for saying Android wasn’t ready yet, is now changing his tune believing that Android 1.5 is finally ready for prime time. To show his newly found faith in Android, he confirmed that Sprint will launch at least one Android phone this year.
Which Android phone will launch on Sprint? Earlier reports had pegged Sprint to be the carrier for the HTC Hero and we definitely know that the HTC Hero with the Sense UI can withstand the bright lights of prime time.
So, Sprint HTC Hero anyone?

It wouldn't make me change I can tell you that much. The Hero is nice and all, especially with the Sense UI, but if I'm going to make the jump for any full touch screen Android device in the future it'll be the SE Rachel.
Otherwise I am happy that more Android phones are coming out on different carriers. It means that our eventual domination of the smart phone market is just another step closer to fruition.

I agree with jdschrock, seems after the testing is rolling out on the Hero... it might not have the processing power to save anyone, let alone Sprint.
I think the new Samsungs with the Corex A8 processors might just be the answer. Get something like the Sense UI loaded into a phone with a 1gz processor and all of the sudden... you have a true Hero!
Something that is faster than a speeding bullet... with the ability to make Sprint stronger than steel. (I'm done with the superhero metaphors.) But seriously, this is something that Sprint really needs to engage, Android is the future of Cell phones and its great to hear that Dan Hesse is finally leaping over skyscrapers to keep us consumers buying. (sorry lied about the metaphors)

Long time ago in a kingdom far away, phones did not remain exclusive to a single carrier.
Nobody implied that T-Mo wasn't getting the Hero, just that there would also be a Sprint version. (See HTC Snap)
My pre will go up for sale if sprint gets the hero.
