Zauba has the Desire Eye listed for Rs. 21,490, which comes out to $350, and the One M8 Eye for Rs. 27,035, which is the equivalent of $450. While the pricing information is not generally indicative of a device's final retail cost, it at least gives us an idea as to where these devices will be placed. The site also revealed that the Desire Eye will feature a 5.2-inch screen and dual-SIM functionality, while the One M8 Eye is listed as a single-SIM offering with a 5-inch display.
Earlier this month, details of a selfie-focused device by the name of Desire Eye were leaked, with the device claimed to feature a dual 13 MP camera configuration. Other leaked specs of the device include 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU, 5.2-inch full-HD screen, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory, water resistance and a 2,400 mAh battery. Another interesting feature from the leaked render of the device suggests a dedicated camera shutter button, a feature not present on the One M8.
Traditionally, handsets in the Desire series were catered to the mid-tier segment, and as such it is interesting to see the high-end specs boasted by the Desire Eye. Until such time there is an official confirmation, we suggest you take the leaked specs with a pinch of salt.
As for the One M8 Eye, there is no information as to the hardware it will feature, although judging from the price, it is likely that it will be targeted at the high-end segment. HTC is hosting a "Double Exposure" event later this week, which is when we'll likely hear more about these devices, as well as a camera accessory the Taiwanese manufacturer is said to be working on.
