Motorola has announced that the Milestone 3 will be available for customers in Brazil starting Aug. 29. As we've seen in the past, Motorola Milestone devices are copies of their Verizon counterparts, minus the America-centric CDMA radio and Verizon Droid branding. Like the Motorola Droid 3, the Milestone is no slouch when it comes to specifications:
- Dual-core OMAP4 CPU at 1GHz
- 4-inch qHD display
- 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p capture, front camera for video conferencing
- 16GB internal memory
- Android 2.3
Also included are Motorola's comprehensive set of business features, like GAL lookup, remote document access, data encryption, and remote wipe. And we can't forget the five-row QWERTY packed onto this one, one of the best Motorola has offered thus far. The Milestone 3 should be a hit with Android fans in Brazil, and in six other Latin American nations by October. Read the full press release after the break.
Motorola Mobility Introduces Motorola MILESTONE™ 3 to Latin America, the World’s Thinnest Android QWERTY Slider
Thinner, faster, smarter Motorola MILESTONE™ 3 offers unprecedented mobile power to seven Latin American countries by the end of September
SÃO PAULO – Aug. 29, 2011 – Setting a new milestone for speed, Motorola MILESTONE™ 3 is a mobile powerhouse, delivering uncompromising Web, email and media content to people around the world. This spring, Motorola Industrial Ltda. is introducing Motorola MILESTONE 3, the newest, most advanced member of the intelligent and powerful family of Motorola MILESTONE devices to Latin America. The individuals using this super-sleek device – the world’s thinnest Android QWERTY slider – will become digital trailblazers, channeling the strengths of the device to power through their day.
Among the many strengths of Motorola MILESTONE 3 is the device’s dual-core 1GHz processor, which delivers better multi-tasking, faster web browsing, faster loading of Flash videos and higher quality gaming experiences. A dedicated number row on the top of the thin QWERTY keypad lets users type and text faster and more accurately without the need to hit the ‘ALT’ button. And with a brilliant 4-inch qHD display, Motorola MILESTONE 3 showcases photos, Web pages and video content more clearly than any Motorola MILESTONE device before. Enhanced security features enable users to access corporate emails, documents and calendars, with no need to wonder if their IT departments will approve.
“Motorola MILESTONE 3 catapults people into a new realm of productivity,” said Maurizio Angelone, vice president and general director for Mobile Devices Latin America, Motorola Mobility. “The Milestone brand invokes a sense of advanced intelligence and mind-blowing speed, and we wanted to build upon that standard to create a device that users won’t want to put down whether they are at work, at home, on the road.”
Marvel at Mind-Blowing Media Content
Motorola MILESTONE 3 offers loads of features for extraordinary entertainment and functionality. Users can leave their digital cameras at home and still capture their adventures with a powerful 8-megapixel camera with flash and digital zoom, and use the device’s front-facing camera to video chat with friends, family and coworkers, whether over a Wi-Fi or a 3G connection. It’s easy to shoot videos and play them back in 1080p HD brilliance with mirror mode which allows you to view and share content on a larger TV via HDMI output. Users also have the benefit of Adobe® Flash®, allowing them to stream Web content, videos and games on the most popular video player available today. And all of this is delivered on a generous and stunning 4-inch gHD display.
Motorola MILESTONE 3 leverages Motorola ESP Technology, offering tailored experiences based on home, office, bedroom or car dock settings. As users transition environments throughout the day, Motorola MILESTONE 3 adapts its features automatically based on the dock it’s connected to and pre-defined settings. For example, when a user selects settings such as a lower screen brightness and alarm clock and news updates on the home screen for a dock in the bedroom, his or her Motorola MILESTONE 3 will automatically revert to those settings every time the device is docked there. When moved from the bedroom dock to the car dock, Motorola MILESTONE 3 can automatically display GPS navigation and stream a pre-selected morning radio program, giving users a personalized experience as they transition throughout the day.
Built for Fun but Ready for Business
Motorola MILESTONE 3 empowers users to manage business instantly, intuitively and securely – from anywhere in the world. Never be out of the know with work issues by keeping up with corporate email sent directly to the device. Users can keep track of their schedule through a full calendar and they have the ability to see if colleagues are busy and initiate new meetings. Users can download, review and edit documents, presentations or spreadsheets with the pre-loaded Quickoffice® app. The large 4-inch qHD display makes it easy to see the document with little scrolling or panning. Additionally, the five-row QWERTY keypad makes it easy to quickly type up responses to emails, and there’s no need to wonder if the IT department will approve Motorola MILESTONE 3, as the device is fully Business Ready with security, password protection, virtual wipe and encryption capabilities.
