Android Market has the highest percentage of free apps

Casey Chan News Wednesday, 24 February 2010

Everybody loves free apps. We definitely don't mind paying for premium, high-quality applications (the developers deserve it!) but there are few things that beat a wide selection of quality, free applications. Luckily, Android has free apps in droves. According to Distimo,

Google To Give A Free Nexus One Or Motorola Droid To GDC Attendees

Casey Chan News Monday, 25 January 2010

One of the weaker points of the Android platform (especially when compared to the iPhone), is the lack of high quality games. Considering the hardware of the high-end Android devices (such as the Nexus One and Droid) is certainly capable of such games, it's really all a matter of getting enough developers behind Android as a gaming platform. So how do...

Verizon Giving Away Free Droid Battery Doors

Casey Chan News Monday, 04 January 2010

We guess Verizon finally realized their original method of fixing the faulty Motorola Droid battery cover wasn't going to cut it. After all, it was just a band-aid! This time around, they're actually offering new Droid battery covers to fix the issue, hopefully this...

Casey Chan News Thursday, 17 December 2009

It must be the holiday spirit (or end of the year desperation), because T-Mobile is joining Verizon in offering BOGO specials. Yep, that's buy-one-get-one-free. T-Mobile is expected to give BOGO to all smartphones, meaning you can mix and match if you so please. Buy a Motorola CLIQ, get a myTouch 3G. Buy a myTouch 3G, get a T-Mobile G1. Motorola DEXT aka CLIQ Heading to Orange UK for Free

Casey Chan News Thursday, 17 September 2009

Orange UK has announced that they'll release the Motorola DEXT (what we know as the Motorola CLIQ) in early October for the low, no price of free. Though us Android users in the US have no official time frame for launch and any idea of price, Orange UK customers will be glad to...

Will the Motorola CLIQ Be Offered For Free ?

Casey Chan News Friday, 11 September 2009

The Motorola CLIQ was spotted yesterday for the low, low price of free (with qualifying contract). The CLIQ comes in either Winter White or Midnight Titanium and was supposedly also being offered for $399.99 without contract. Though no one could 'add the CLIQ to cart', a free Android phone would be an exciting prospect.

In the end, we're not sure if this price is going to stick, we're fairly certain T-Mobile would still like to squeeze a bit of...

T-Mobile UK Renaming HTC Hero as the G1 Touch, Also Free !

Casey Chan News Thursday, 25 June 2009

Aw, would you look at that. One big happy, big-chinned family. T-Mobile UK has renamed the HTC Hero the G1 Touch (falling in line with previous reports) and though the name is admittedly lame and a year outdated, it's always good to strengthen the brand name of the G1.

Like Orange UK, the G1 Touch will be available starting mid-July for the low cost of FREE (new customer...

Orange UK to Offer HTC Hero for Free !

Casey Chan News Thursday, 25 June 2009

We had known that Orange UK was going to be a carrier for the HTC Hero a month ago, now we know the cost of the HTC Hero on Orange: FREE. Of course a qualifying rate plan is necessary in order to receive the HTC Hero for free (new customer, 2 year contract, £40 a month plan should do the trick). We've always been intrigued on how carriers do business...

Google Ion AKA Free HTC Magic Already Posted on eBay

Casey Chan News Friday, 29 May 2009

This was to be expected. After Google gave away free HTC Magics aka the Google Ion at Google I/O, people were bound to put this special edition, possibly Android Dev Phone 2 onto eBay. Users hit quick and capitalized on the lack of an official US HTC Magic to maximize profit--it seems that more than a few people are looking to make a quick buck rather than incorporate a wonderful...
