Verizon wasn't the only one to kick off preorders for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 last night - AT&T is now taking orders too. Devices will be available on November 9, so long as you're willing to drop $299.99 and sign up for a two-year contract.

We've played around a little bit with the AT&T version and done a full review of the European model, but here's a quick rundown of the specs of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

  • Network: 3G: HSPA+ 21Mbps (HSDPA 21Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps); 4G LTE: 100Mbps/ 50Mbps
  • Processor: 1.6 GHz quad-core processor
  • Display: 5.5” HD Super AMOLED (1,280 x 720)

  • Camera: Main(Rear): 8 Megapixel Auto Focus Camera with LED Flash, BSI; Sub(Front): 1.9 Megapixel VT Camera, BSI; Best Photo, Best Faces, Low light shot
  • GPS: A-GPS; Glonass
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth® v 4.0 (Apt-X Codec support) LE; USB 2.0 Host; WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5 GHz), Wi-Fi HT40; Wi-Fi Direct; mHL; NFC

Anyone interested in picking one up can head over to AT&T's online store. Who's taking the dive? There are a lot of carrier options, though the logo emblazoned on the home button of the Verizon version may be enough to eliminate one alternative...

Preordered mine 2 days ago was was given delivery confirmation of November 4th. Total cost was a twenty minute phone call while complaining about my bill, even waived the ludicrous $36 upgrade "fee".
Say what you want about AT&T, but they want to keep your business.

Gekko says:

you pay for it one way or another.

SoreAintya says:

I disagree, you'd most likely be under contract no matter the carrier, so resigning a 2yr means little to me, especially since I've had the same account with AT&T in one form or another since the 80's.

Gekko says:

look at your bill every month and compare it to your alternatives.

Funny thing is, I checked my upgrade eligibility online and saw that it said "early iphone upgrade" so I clicked on chat and asked the agent if I can apply that discount towards buying the Note 2. The agent said I could, but we both later found out that was not true.. so as an apology the agent gave me $100 towards the purchase of the note 2.

Apparently not mine. I pre-ordered at around 12:30AM on Thursday morning. I received email confirmation followed by an email saying the card was invalidated and I needed to contact Premier. Premier tried to run another card, said there was an issue with their system, and that they would need to escalate the issue and it may take 4 days to hear back. I had them cancel it so I could just reorder. Now everytime I re-order it automoatically cancels my order right after the confirmation email. Normal Customer Care refuses to touch it because it is Premier, and Premier only escalates it so someone can call you in 4 days. I've never gotten angry with Customer Service before, not in 11 years of ATT service, but now, I am freaking p*ssed, and there is nothing I can do.

I would already have on preordered if they offered 64GB. Darn it

AT&T is offering only the titanium gray :( but I decided to not wait for the white to get in the stores. Ordered the gray early this morn; now searching for a leather folio case without magnetic closure . . .

I went to a local T-Mob store to check this beast out. WHOA.. I suggest doing the same if you haven't had the chance to hold it. Its about as long as a dollar bill. I have big mitts, so it fits my hands fine.

I dont care they aren't offering more than a 16gb. I have a 16gb card from my Infuse ill just drop in. I am pissed once again ATT is says no dropbox.

Although I own small hands, my old eyes will appreciate being able to more easily read the generous ;) display

Got it from tmobile yesterday. It's an amazing phone. I'm average size guy (5'9") and I can handle and pocket it no problem. It actually fits in my pocket BETTER than my gs2 with extended battery. Just having trouble finding a case for it...don't know where I can buy one. If anyone knows that'd be great.

What type of case do you prefer? Samsung has leather flip-cover cases in a rainbow of colours. That's what I'll probably order because most or all of the other brands have magnetic closures (which have an issue with wacom digitalia).

planoman says:

Limited supply on cases right now. Try expansys USA.

I ordered a tpu case from eBay several weeks ago for like $4 and I have it and will use it until Seidio comes out with their case and holster.

Sprint's Galaxy Note 2 just went up on site for sale.

I went to T Mob today to play with the Note 2. In about 5 min I made up my mind, this is my next phone!! It actually fits in my pocket MUCH better than my current Atrix.

However, I just called ATT support Twice, and also called a retail store and they said I couldn't pre order the phone over the phone, that I had to go through online. I wanted to pre order over the phone to make sure I didn't get charged the $30 some for "upgrade fee". According to the woman on the phone when I do this online the "upgrade fee" will be waived. We'll see what my screen shows...

Sigh....

FWIW, I ordered two Note IIs this morn and neither charged me an upgrade fee :)
