At its ZenFestival event in India, ASUS announced the latest variant in the ZenFone 2 series, the ZenFone 2 Deluxe. The phone comes with a textured diamond-cut back that adds a more premium look when seen against the standard version of the ZenFone 2.
Other than the textured back, the phone is identical to the ZenFone 2, featuring a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display, 2.3GHz 64-bit Z3580 CPU, 4GB RAM, 64 and 128GB internal memory variants, 13MP camera, 5MP front shooter, LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi ac, dual SIM dual active functionality, and a 3,000mAh battery along with Android 5.0. ASUS chairman Jonney Shih revealed that the ZenFone 2 Deluxe will be available from ₹22,999 ($360).
Shih also announced a new model in the series, dubbed ZenFone 2 Laser. The phone is targeted at budget-conscious buyers, and will be available in 5.5- and 6-inch variants with a resolution of 1280 x 720 backed by Gorilla Glass 4. The differentiating feature of the phone is the laser autofocus for the 13MP rear camera, which focuses as fast as 0.3 seconds. Other hardware includes a f/2.0 lens for the camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, Snapdragon 410 CPU, LTE and dual-SIM connectivity.
The ZenFone 2 Laser will be available for as low as ₹9,999 ($156).
