Using both TPU and polycarbonate materials, this rugged case is built to MIL-STD-810G military standards and has been drop tested for your G4's safety. The ShockSuit Case comes in two pieces — the hero being the chunky back cover next to the screen shield sidekick. We also know what your leather battery door means to you, and you'd never consider covering it up with a case like this (or any case at all), but rest assured that this brute is only friendly with the plastic G4 battery cover.
You can actually flex the back cover in your hand, but it's far tougher than any average skin case. The tactile outer layer really grants a firm grip around the LG G4 when installed, covering up the power and volume buttons on the back for extra protection and an easier press. There are still cutouts for the camera, IR ports, microphone, laser, flash, and speaker — leaving the charging and auxiliary ports plugged up (removable) to keep out dirt and other debris. Inside the cover you'll find a hexagonal pattern that helps to dissipate impacts. Not only does the ShockSuit Case make your LG G4 look like it's ready for anything, the glossed accents that appear on the back and edges really highlight the entire case.
The built-in screen protector features a plastic gray border and makes way for the front-facing camera and speaker. The protector itself feels thick enough to keep any abrasives from ever leaving an imperfection on the display, but as with most covers of this kind, fingerprints and smudges are always there to remind you how ugly things can get if not kept clean. I wish I could say installation was a cinch, but one cracked fingernail says otherwise. You have to snap the front cover on first, then fit it into the hard case. This is easier said than done, as the front cover managed to pull the battery door off twice before getting a proper fit.
For those that need the extra protection from front to back, the Body Glove ShockSuit is definitely a solid case. Besides not being waterproof, you've got protection on all points along with a solid grip. Installation could have been easier, and removing the case isn't any better, but those things aside — it'll keep your G4 safe.
