Samsung Mobile announces the Samsung Illusion with Verizon Wireless

Ultimately VZW doesn't like it. They don't want unlocked bootloaders. They just have to deal with it to get this phone.

Nice to see that Samsung hasn't completely shut down the production lines for anything under 5".

Sadly, even though this is a bit under-specced compared to newer phones these days, I might have to buy something like this because I refuse to get a 4.5" wide monster like they put out (Epic Touch 4G, Infuse).

Manufacturers make money by releasing new devices not by updating the old ones. Sad but true...
Wanna update your Charge, root and install ROMs

i understand. ive rooted previous phones with no issue, but when i tried rooting the charge, i completely bricked it. had to get another one. i was hoping as a flagship phone, there would be some timely updates...not NONE at all.

You were the one who bought a Samsung phone KNOWING that they don't update them after release.

Your fault.
