RAZR V

Motorola really loves their RAZR line, thinking back years ago to the old flip phone, and then more recently to the remodeled device that was quickly outdone by the RAZR MAXX. Today Motorola has announced the Motorola RAZR V, which will be destined for Canada. Coming in at only 8.4mm the device is extremely thin, but being covered in DuPont Kevlar fiber it is also remarkably strong as well.

In addition to all the normal goodies we are used to seeing, Motorola has also included something very unique called SMARTACTIONS. These smart actions will make using the device even more of a pleasure, and easier on you as well. Your device will now be able to know when you plug headphones in that you want to launch a specific app or playlist, or change some device settings to help save battery when it is getting a bit low. The application can automate many daily tasks, and make things much easier on you, which is always a huge plus. The device is set to launch in Q3 in Canada, and should be available from many of the large retailers. Hit the break for the full release.

The RAZR for All: Motorola Mobility Canada announces Motorola RAZR™ V

Iconic. Innovative. A specimen of smartphone genius.

July 10, 2012

TORONTO - July 10, 2012 – Designed to give your current smartphone an inferiority complex, Motorola RAZR™ V, brought to you by Motorola Mobility Canada Ltd., packs really smart software and high-end, high-tech multimedia tools into inspirational design. .

The newest addition to the RAZR family, Motorola RAZR V is remarkably thin – just 8.4 mm – yet unbelievably strong. It’s made with DuPont™ Kevlar® fiber, which gives an other-worldly sturdiness to the outer shell, while a scratch-resistant screen defends against bumps and bruises. And, a high-tech, invisible nano-coating shields against the unexpected splash.

You’ve got needs, and Motorola RAZR V knows it. That’s why there’s SMARTACTIONS™, an app that intelligently automates everyday tasks and suggests ways to personalize your phone and make your life easier. Most importantly, SMARTACTIONS gives you the power to get through your day without running out of steam. The Battery Extender will notice when you’re running low and change your phone’s settings to preserve whatever juice is left so you won’t be without power. It’s the SMARTACTION current users love the most.

There’s a lot more SMARTACTIONS can do for you. Let’s say you’re at the gym for spin class, SMARTACTIONS will recognize your headphones and automatically launch your favourite workout playlist. In meetings or in class, SMARTACTIONS has your back – the app silences your phone’s ringer and then auto-replies to calls and texts so you’ll never be “that person” whose phone goes off in the middle of a presentation. That’s smart.

“We’re thrilled to launch another RAZR into the Canadian market,” says Michelle Digulla, general manager, Motorola Mobility Canada. “Motorola RAZR V will be available through a wide selection of channels – bringing the iconic Motorola design and smarter smartphone experience to Canadians.”

Motorola RAZR V doesn’t just turn heads and keep you going through the day, it also lets you get creative. Snap pics with the 8 megapixel camera, see or be seen with the front-facing camera, and save memories in HD with 1080p video capture featuring image stabilization so your shots will be steady and your playback smooth. Share special moments instantly with your friends on Google+™ or Facebook®.

Motorola announces the RAZR V for Canada

This is the 2nd Razr to go on sale in Canada...how are they going to kill the brand with two phones per market?

hasn't smart actions been on the RAZR and RAZR Maxx since launch? This article makes it sound like it's something brand new.

Agreed, that part reads like a press release, or at least someone who doesn't know what's already been released by Motorola. Maybe SmartActions are new to Canada thus the reemphasis on them. Personally I don't use any of them as they never quite worked right. :-)

First thing I noticed is it looks like it has on screen buttons. I noticed they don't mention any specs which means to me that it is a lower class of phone.
