HTC One in gold.

One of our 2013 favorites, revisited in an exclusive new color

Android Central @ CESWe've spent all week getting to know some of this year's most-anticipated upcoming Android devices at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. But as we head towards the end of the week, there's just time to take a look at one of our favorite Android phones, we've been able to spend some time with one of our favorites from 2013 in a bold new color option. As announced shortly before the holidays, the HTC One now comes in gold — at least in some European countries — with a darker trim around its edges.

And in our video and photo galleries after the break we'll compare this lustrous new HTC One to the classic silver version, and Apple's rival gold iPhone 5s. Enjoy!

It's a joke. Remember how many times we poke apple? It was along those lines...

Very nice! If it's anything like the finish on my blue HTC One I'd recommend sticking to the silver though. After a few nicks and scratches it starts looking pretty bad whereas the silver one will look as good as ever.

Silver gets very boring. Sent from my silver phone.

I think it looks cool. Oddly enough it's better looking than the one made of actual gold.

It's gorgeous. And the silly little iPhone looks like a toy next to it.

willizen says:

Why does the iPhone look like a toy compared to it?

Bwahahahaha says:

It doesn't. People say stupid things sometimes for attention. That's the internet for ya...

It's not internet hate... the iPhone looks silly by comparison because it's so small!

Think the iPhone did it better. Perhaps because the iPhone is not all gold but has some white whereas the HTC one is all gold on the back? But man, the silver HTC one has held up well. Best looking android phone to date. Don't understand why people are still buying the crap the other manufactures put out.

mp5wes says:

I would've cracked up if all this article said was, "Look. It's gold. That's all" haha. At least it looks better than Alcatel's attempt

miwaca says:

It's nice but I think iPhone 5S beats it in terms of subtlety.

K White1 says:

I likely would have purchased the gold HTC One rather than silver if it was available last year in the US. Nevertheless, my silver One still looks like new, and I mainly use a thin, leather sleeve for minimum protection.

Not sure if it's the shade of gold they used, or the black trim... But it reminds me of an 80s calculator.

DaFonZisBack says:

Why did they have to go with the same shade of gold as apple. Have they no shame?

Lee Petchey says:

The gold is similar (so much as navy and royal are two shades of blue) but certainly not as subtle as Apple's on the 5s.

It's nothing like the gold on the iPhone.
