Samsung Galaxy Tab 3

7-inch, LTE-capable tablet coming to Sprint this Friday for $49 on a two-year plan

Samsung has announced that the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 will be making its way to Sprint from this Friday, Oct 11. Priced at $49 on a two-year plan, the Tab 3 7.0 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on a 7-inch, 1024x600-resolution display. There's also a 3-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facer, and if Sprint's Tab 3 is anything like the Wifi-only version, it should be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM. (No specific internals are mentioned in today's press release.) Existing Sprint customers can add data for a Tab 3 to their accounts for an additional monthly fee starting at $5 plus tax.

As a TouchWiz tablet, Sprint's Tab 3 features some of the headline features from Samsung's smartphones, including the WatchON TV app, which uses a built-in IR blaster, and Group Play for multimedia sharing. The tablet will go on sale this Friday through Sprint's brick-and-mortar stores as well as online and telesales channels. At first it'll be available in white, with a black version to follow in time for the holidays.

They said one of the best tablet out there.

I would have preferred to have seen the Note 8 or the newest Note 10.1, though I do understand the draw of the smaller size as a mobile device

Usual Samsung junk. No wonder its in the bargain bin everywhere that sells it.

mtmerrick says:

If you guys check the press release, there's a link to a "Fact Sheet" that lists the Qualcomm MSM8930AB chipset - the same Snapdragon 400 SoC that's in the AT&T version.

http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/fact-sheet-samsung-galaxy-tab-3...

As mentioned, it's the same as the AT&T version.

vpblaze says:

Worst tablet ever! The 7 inch tab has the worst specs. My S3 preformed better then my tab 7 did. I don't even know why samsung would make a 7 inch and 8 inch tablet, but have the specs between the two so different.
This would have been more beneficial if they would have made a LTE 8 inch!

luci8907 says:

Completely agreed, I bought the 7 inch version owned it approx 4 hours before it went back to the store. Don't let the price fool you guys pay for the 8 inch you'll be happier in the long run.

vpblaze says:

Yeah, I returned mine shortly afterward as well. Was not impressed with the stuttering and laggy with minimal apps installed. Samsung would have benefited more by implementing the specs from the 8 inch into the 7 inch. Is there really a need for two tablets one inch apart from each other?

the Sprint SM-t217s has an upgrade 1.7Ghz processor, versus the 1.2 in the wi-fi version. Also, it ships with Jelly Bean 4.2.2. and is on sale for $49.99. *if you check for employer discounts on (link at the bottom of Sprint home page) and don't have work email, just put in whatever... it will open up the opportunity to use promo "Save50" at check up which gives you a $50 bill credit. If you DO have work email and it shows that you are eligible for a service discount, you CAN still use the "Save50" promo code, but you'll also get free activation

I've had this tablet for several weeks now and I love it. I actually use it more than my laptop. This tablet has just enough features for me. Who needs an overpriced iPad? (which is basically nothing but an "i bought it because i can" item). I love Samsung's prodocts
