A few weeks after NVIDIA confirmed that its Shield tablet would get an over-the-air update to Android 5.0 Lollipop, the company has revealed that the update will be rolling out sometime later in November.
This would make the Shield tablet one of the first to support Google's latest mobile OS, along with the Nexus 9. A quick video posted by NVIDIA shows Lollipop in action on the eight-inch device. It also briefly shows the company's own Dabbler drawing and painting app, which will also be updated with a new user interface that at least looks like the Material Design found in Android 5.0. Other new features will be included in the NVIDIA Dabbler app but there's no word yet on what they will be like.
Finally, the video shows the updated Shield Hub, which lets owners buy new games for their tablet. It will receive a new UI when Lollipop is released. Perhaps Android 5.0 will give the tablet a second life — let us know what you think in the comments.
