If you're tired of waiting for the Android 5.1.1 OTA to hit your Nexus 9, update manually.

We're a handful of days removed from the announcement that the Android 5.1.1 OTA is now headed to Nexus 9s, but considering that the rollout takes some time it's worth mentioning that the necessary files for a manual update are now available. The factory image is Android 5.1.1 (LMY47X), and will get you up to speed on the latest build same as it would if you were to accept the OTA when it was pushed to you. On the OTA file front, the necessary zip file to move swiftly from 5.0.2 (LRX22L) up to 5.1.1 is available as well.

Unfortunately at this time the latest files are only available for Wifi Nexus 9s — you'll have to wait if you have an LTE model.

If you're tired of waiting for the OTA and want to spend a little time tinkering, be sure to read our guide on how to properly use the factory image or OTA file to update your device. Once you're all up and running on 5.1.1, be sure to hit up the forums and let others know how its running!
