myTouch 4G port on Nexus One

If you're looking to try your hand on the T-Mobile myTouch 4G, you're in luck. It's up and running in basic form, thanks to eViL D: porting that leaked ROM over to the Nexus One. Wifi, Bluetooth and the cell radios are working; the camera, video and the new Wifi calling are out, for now. But it's definitely up and running and is a great primer for how things will work when the myTouch 4G is finally released. This isn't one of those flash-and-go ROMs -- you'll need to follow the directions. But we got it up and running -- and now we want the myTouch 4G, stat. [XDA Developers via Android Central Forums] Thanks, Josh!

Update: Screen shots, anyone? We've got a few dozen after the break.

wifi calling (UMA), video chat and portable hotspot FTW

diverbelow says:

I really hope the dev's can pull out the WiFi calling and make it available to everyone or whoever meets the requirements for WiFi calling. I have a Droid and the service sucks at my house, but with WiFi calling, that would be SWEET!

TvTechGuru says:

This looks like a new Android OS version, no? I saw it said 2.2, but this UI looks new, maybe Android 3.0? Can't be though, cause I thought that was still under early development.

peterfares says:

It's a customized version of Sense for T-Mobile. Its 2.2

That looks awesome. Any chance of getting that wallpaper? :)

It's all here:

OH MY GOD!!! I have the Nexus one and I want to upgrade to this eventually. I would really love the video chat capability and of course a faster and new processor. But if there is no way to turn of that sense UI, I am not doing it. It is ugly! Compared to the stock version. Please Phil of Evil D, let me know if there is a way to turn it off, without rooting.

Really liking the all black theme(?)...I'm new to Andorid, but so far I have not been able to change the "look" of my G2. I did get launcher pro...but not sure yet about it.

This UI seems very clean and crips....nice!!!!

I have many questions does it come with live wallpaper.
I never use any of my touch Interface before how different is it from what on G1 or nexus one.
Yes I need to be school again

Ew it's so ugly...at least they'll be stuck on 2.2 for the next year and not 2.1...

Sexy.
Very, very sexy.
Thank god it has an Fm radio.
It will be so good to finally put my little
red myTouch 3G down and pick this up.
Just a few more weeks...

We all know how much upgrade love the mytouch's have gotten in the past... But seeing these screen shots makes me want to like this phone just a little more.

I'm curious to see what kind of case it comes in this time around, hopefully not another plastic suitcase.

I'm new to Android...how do I get this on my evo? Or is that even possible? Looks really good!

rofsilk says:

The kid zone feature is excellent. I'd get this just for the feature alone. I don't know how many times my 2 year old dialed 911 on my phone.

TonyB#AC says:

Yeah let's just hope they make a good case for it like the original mytouch 3G did. No more plastic cases please
