LG G3

The European LG G3 — the LG-D855 if you want to get technical — has today received its first over-the-air update, landing on firmware version 10e. Unlocked G3s in the UK and parts of Asia, where the D855 is also sold, seem to be first with this update; other countries and carrier variants likely to get the update in the days and weeks ahead. It's not entirely clear what's new in v10e, but the update dialog refers to app updates or "power optimizations" depending on region. In any case, it's still based upon Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and our Euro G3 doesn't seem to have changed too much after applying this latest update.

For those eager enough to want to try the lengthy (and unofficial) manual update process, KDZ files for the new firmware have started to pop up over on XDA. (As always, you're on your own if anything goes wrong during a manual update using a KDZ file.)

If you've got a European LG G3, head to Settings > About phone > Update Center to see if your v10e update is ready. When you're done, be sure to share your thoughts down in the comments, and let us know if you spot any changes.

Update: Looks like LG has tweaked its display tuning in this update, resulting in less over-saturation after updating, and presumably somewhat more accurate colors in photos and video content.

I have heard that some ART users was changed back to Dalvik after the update. Can anyone confirm this?
