Reports of a 32GB Nexus 7 have been circulating for the past week or so, and fresh details emerging today suggest there could be more to the device mere rumor. First up are reports from a Japanese Nexus 7 buyer on Twitter, who claims to have been mistakenly shipped one of the 32GB units. The tablet purchased by Twitter user @oppese was reportedly boxed up and labeled as the 16GB model, but when powered on revealed a total of 27GB available for media storage, after the 5GB or so reserved for the OS.

And another leaked inventory screen is doing the rounds today, purportedly from UK retailer Dixons Stores Group (Currys/PC World). The shot shows the 32GB Nexus 7 priced at £199.99, same as the current price for the 16GB model. If this image is accurate, it stands to reason that the 32GB model might replace the 16GB version at the $250 price point in other territories, likely leading to a further price cut on the 8GB and 16GB Nexuses.

None of this is officially confirmed, but with Apple's 7.8-inch iPad due to make its debut in the next couple of weeks, we're sure Google and ASUS will be looking for ways to remain competitive in the 7-inch tablet space.

Just add LTE and this would be perfect.

Actually we know for a fact that it is internal. The reason is simple. When an SDCard is inserted a subheader which says "SD Card" appears in a blue stripe across the screen just under the internal storage information. As you can see in the image above there is no such blue stripe.

Here is a screenshot from my GS3 showing you what having a 32GB SDCard looks like...

Sweet! I would be fine with the 16GB version, so if this holds true i could either spend the same money to get way more space then i would need with the 32GB or save some cash (maybe $50?) and go for the 16GB. Good news in any case... And its about the right time too.... Christmas/Thanksgiving shopping season is starting to wind up for another year in North America, so price cuts on the current models isn't a surprise

If this replaces the 16gb at 250 bucks, I'm there. Love this tablet. Picked up the 16 when it first came out but I needed the money more than the product at the time and sold it to a good buddy. I've been wanting to pick up another one since then, but held out in hopes for bigger storage.

dswatson83 says:

This needs to be $250. It should not cost $50 for an extra 8GB. This is why I love having sd card slots. I really don't like having to buy an extra card, but it is ridiculous to charge $50 for 8GB and manufactures commonly use the high capacity models to increase their margins.

dEcmir says:

N that case it's different since the 8giga model don't have any margin. Or did'nt. This was Why the 16g was that more expensive to pays the retailers like best buy. With sdn cardiaque you're unable to have your full memory worth of apps. This sucks a lot... hopefully ssd storage will become a bit cheaper soon!

Please Do A Trade In Upgrade Option, I Love Downloading TV Series On It And Would Live More Space. Watched Grimm And Breaking Bad So Far

Triclops says:

So, sell your current one and get the 32GB model when it comes out.

The 16Gb of internal memory is the one thing keeping me from replacing my HTC Flyer with a Nexus 7. I want to be able to load the machine up with dozen movies or so to watch on the plane or whereves, and 16Gb doesn't allow for that and apps and data (My 16Gb of music can comfortably live on my phone). A 32 Gb model would make that possible,

This is not to say that I'll replace my Flyer the moment a 32Gb Nexus 7 hits the shelves... there's still life in my Flyer. But it will happen sooner or later.

whopua#AC says:

Craaaap... I literally have a 16GB Nexus 7 being delivered by UPS today. If the price is going to be the same I guess I should just send it back and wait.

Well if this is true they can count me in. Been looking at them with a slight bit of interest. 32 is a nice sweet spot.

dakid2k6 says:

Would love the 32gb one. I just got the 16gb a few weeks back. May just keep it and buy a 32gb.

Triclops says:

And to think, I would've happily bought the 32GB if it had launched at the same time as the 8\16GB models. As it stands, I've made my tablet purchase for the year (though I'm sure Asus is happy to know that they got quite a bit more money from me by NOT offering a 32GB Nexus 7.)

Not that I'm complaining. I love my Infinity and wouldn't trade it. It's just that now I have to actively work at not selling myself on getting a 'tweener device to go with my Infinity and Galaxy Nexus.

Is there such a thing as Gadgets Anonymous?

Rage06 says:

Yup, concrete information guys. 32gb version will be launching in the UK. Same price as the 16gb model.
Hopefully we get a release date soon.

32gb might make me move from my 64gb Xoom (32gb internal + 32gb card)... holding off until after the holidays to see if the N10 rumors pan out.

John-Smith says:

Might just have to upgrade my 8gb to the 32gb version.

setitoff215 says:

what do you mean by upgrading to a 32gb Version? You Mean You Will Buy Another One? And Keep The 8gb As Well?

setitoff215 says:

SMH THIS SHOULD BE CALLED A SCAM BY GOOGLE IF THEY ARE GOING TO RELEASE THIS TABLET AS THE SAME PRICE AS THE 16GB AND BUMP THE PRICE DOWN ON THE 16GB NOT A GOOD FOR THOSE WHO ALREADY PURCHASED THE 8/16GB VERSIONS!! WOULD THEY OFFER A BUY BACK OR WOULD THEY JUST LEAVE US TO SHAME?? THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE HAVE TO UNITE BOUT? THEY ARE CONNING THE US THE CONSUMER. THIS NO DIFFERENT ABOUT THE BOOTLOADERS BEING LOCKED COME ON PPL THIS IS BS!!! AND I KNOW MEAN OWNERS OF THE NEXUS 7 TABLETS WILL BE UPSET BOUT THIS THEY NEED TO COME UP WITH AN IDEA THAT WILL BENEFIT THE CONSUMERS NOT THEM...

Archienj7 says:

Companies do this with products ALL the time. PS3 prices dropped just a week after I bought mine at full price. It wasn't a con and neither is this and nothing like a locked bootloader. If they release new models at the same prices how would they get rid of the mountain of old stock? Raise the price? lol Early adopters get boned on the regular. It's the price you pay to have it first. Welcome to the Tech World buddy, you are obviously extremely new here.
