Sony has announced the latest handset in the selfie-focused Xperia C series, the Xperia C5 Ultra. The phone comes with dual 13MP cameras with LED flash modules for both sensors in a large chassis accommodating a 6-inch full-HD display.
Notable specs of the Xperia C5 Ultra include an octa-core MediaTek MT6752 SoC clocked at 1.7GHz, Mali-T760MP2 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, microSD slot (up to 200GB), Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1, dual-SIM connectivity, LTE support and a 2,930mAh battery. On the software front, the phone's running Android 5.0 Lollipop.
With dimensions of 164.2x79.6x8.2mm and an overall weight of 187g, the Xperia C5 Ultra is aquarely aimed at those looking to maximize multimedia experience from their smartphones. One feature that is missing in the handset is dust and water resistance, which has been a mainstay in recent Sony phones. A likely reason could be the imminent launch of the Xperia M5 Aqua in the country.
The phone will be sold in White, Black and Glossy Soft Mint color variants, and is available for purchase across retail outlets in the country starting today for ₹29,990 ($465). While the asking price is undoubtedly high given the fierce competition in this segment, the large screen and selfie-focused features may attract attention toward the handset.
