Motorola Backflip hands-on video

Phil Nickinson News, Featured Monday, 15 March 2010

Ah, the Motorola Backflip. An odd little phone with a keyboard that flips up under the screen, and a trackpad on the back. Strange, to say the least. But, oddly enough, it works. At least until you turn the thing on.

While some have lamented AT&T's locking-down of the device -- namely in not allowing the sideloading of apps switching to Yahoo instead of Google for...

Phil Nickinson News, Featured Monday, 15 March 2010

The Motorola Devour (running Android 1.6 with Motoblur on Verizon) made its here this morning, and we've had a couple minutes to give it the what-for. Despite playing second fiddle to the Motorola Droid at least as far as specs are concerned -- smaller screen, less powerful processor, etc. -- it's a very well-crafted smartphone.

The Devour has a...

It's the first incarnation of MotoBLUR to not have a physical keyboard. But that doesn't slow it down any, especially because it is one of the first phones...

Phil Nickinson News Wednesday, 03 February 2010

What's this? Another Motorola Zeppelin? That's apparently the case, according to Gizmodo Brazil. They scored what they says is basically a Moto Backflip (see our hands-on) sans keyboard (which is what makes it a "backflip," but whatever).

This guy is said to be running Android 1.5 with MotoBLUR. Other than that...

Motorola Teases Their Super Bowl Ad

Casey Chan News Wednesday, 27 January 2010

We already knew that Motorola had spent a boatload of money to air an ad during the Super Bowl (Go Saints!), but what would they be advertising? We're leaning towards the Backflip. The Backflip was announced at CES but has yet to been properly unveiled to the general public, what better...

Hands-on with the Motorola Backflip

Phil Nickinson News Thursday, 14 January 2010

Let's be perfectly clear here: When I first saw the leaked images of the Motorola Backflip, I didn't know what to make of it and wrote it off as gimmicky. OK, a keyboard that contorts and kind of wraps itself around a phone is gimmicky. But once you see it in action -- along with Android 2.1 and Motoblur --  it works, and it's...

Motorola Backflip Is Official, Probably Headed to AT&T

Casey Chan News Wednesday, 06 January 2010

Motorola just announced the Motorola Backflip at their CES press conference. We've seen this quirky device before, remember, this isn't a slider-type device but rather the keyboard is on the outside and it flips backwards (?) when necessary--hence, the name. It comes with your usual slew of 3G, Wi-Fi, and 5-megapixel camera. Also of note, it's going to be running Motoblur.

Motorola Backflip/Enzo appears destined for AT&T with Motoblur

Phil Nickinson News Wednesday, 16 December 2009

Doubtless we'll be seeing a lot of punny headlines over the Motorola Backflip (also rumored to be called the Enzo), but none from us. Phandroid got tipped to a relatively run-of-the-mill device. But before we worry about specs, let's worry about carriers. This thing appears destined for AT&T, sporting AT&T-branded apps and 3G bands and an AT&T...

Big Blue is the only carrier that doesn't offer an...

The Shack, or just Radio Shack if you've been out of the loop, will offer the Motorola CLIQ for $79 with new 2-year contract on Black Friday (November 26th). We kind of lambasted/ridiculed/tar and feathered T-Mobile for launching the Motorola CLIQ at $199, so $79 is a pretty amazing deal that'll hopefully stick longer than one day.
