If you love the ASUS ZenFone 2 but have a hankering for something a little more high-end, well, that'd be the ZenFone 2 Deluxe. We've already seen a massive 256-gigabyte version of this phone destined for Brazil. The one we've got here in Berlin is a little more tame — a mere 64GB or 128GB of on-board storage. But the other specs — and maybe more importantly the design — are nothing to scoff at.
Let's take a quick look.
Absolutely the first thing you'll notice about the ZenFone 2 Deluxe is the multi-faced back. It definitely has a gem-like look to it, and it feels ridiculously cool when you're holding it. There may be a little too much going on on the back of the phone now — ASUS's rear-mounted volume rocker gets a little more lost here, but, damn it, this design looks good. Really good. The back cover is still removable, and there are a number of color options, so you can swap out, if that's how you roll.
Other specs are as you'd imagine. You have the aforementioned storage options. You have a 3,000 mAh battery. You have a whopping 4 gigabytes of RAM. And you have an Intel Atom processor to keep things speeding along. We'd like to see Android 5.1 on this thing sooner rather than later, though — or maybe just a jump to Marshmallow. We'll see.
The one thing we don't have? Any idea if you'll be able to pick this thing up where you live. Keep your fingers crossed.
