A few days back Verizon finally got the LTE Galaxy Nexus updated to Jelly Bean, and that means new factory images to play with. Google has updated the Nexus factory image page to include build JRO03O, which is unadulterated, pure Android and frankly sexy as hell. Ask anyone who just got the update -- Jelly Bean brings the Galaxy Nexus right up to the front of the smartphone pack, even with the "dated" hardware of the year-old Galaxy Nexus.
So, what does all this factory image stuff mean? Don't worry, it's nothing you have to fool with if you don't want to. It's a set of disk images that are flashable directly to the Galaxy Nexus hardware, to bring the phone back to a fully updated factory state. Think of it as a fail safe incase things get so screwed up that the path back is gone. It's great for hackers and flashers, but it's also a good thing to have on hand for regular folks as well. If you ever need them, there's people in the Verizon Nexus forums who enjoy nothing better than flashing phones, and they're ready to guide you. Hit the source link for the download.
The radios leaked in this update were just what I had been waiting for since I got my Nexus. Ran them on top of all the ROMs I used and never had to deal with no service issues I had with all the past radios. And since I like to rent movies and watch them on my phone through Google Play I flashed stock 4.0.4 last night than updated and yes they are amazing. Thank you for finally fixing the signal loss issue. But when key lime pie or whatever it is Google releases next, I sure hope your update is as quick as this one because 2+ months wasn't all that compared to some other devices.... otherwise I may be temted to root again due to my update eagerness :-)
Can you hook up a link for where to find these radios? I need them badly
I got them from this Jelly Belly rom rootzwiki page. Here is the link. Page has links for both new radios and bootloader. http://rootzwiki.com/topic/28677-rom-jelly-belly-v81-09232012-jellybean-...
If you are unrooted and use FoxFi, it isn't compatible with JB. Just FYI.
I know it's a couple of months after launch and a little late getting here, but I have to say that I really love the update.
I installed the OTA and immediately re-rooted. I found that:
- FoxFi only gave the bluetooth option (even rooted)
- Voice dialing over bluetooth is absolutely horrible. It will not return the desired name, seemingly picking a contact at random. Many other users have reported the same thing.
