Droid Maxx

Have hope Droid users, you have not been forgotten — you're just on Verizon Standard Time

While a solid date would be better, there's finally some good news for Droid Ultra, Droid Mini and Droid Maxx users waiting on an update to get them in line with the rest of the Moto X family. Vice president of product management at Motorola Mobility Punit Soni says:

Verizon users... You know that SW update is coming soon...

While soon can be a pretty horrible word when you're waiting on something, it's better than no word at all. We're pretty certain Verizon takes a particular interest in Droid updates, and we all know that anything Verizon touches makes it slow down when it comes to software updates. But so far, Soni has been spot on with his update news for Moto X class devices.

Besides, who knows how much longer things take when you have Droid Zap! to deal with. We've got our feelers out, and when this one gets any steam we'll let you know.

Go back to sleep, fellow Verizonites. It's not going to happen for a while. Verizon is always ALWAYS verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyy slooooooooooooooowwwwwwwww. Meantime we can start a pool to keep us interested.

I don't know about you guys but I'm gonna keep hitting the check for system updates to I get it!

If your phone is rooted do not download the update! Just wait till a dev roots the update. Thnk you and pls don't complain when u lose root via the update.

When did Motorola release the Note 2? All I know is that I can't wait for the 4.3 update to my Samsung Moto X! Although the new Nokia Galaxy S5 will be da bomb!! So exciting!

I will be the straight guy, I am not sure about when it will be released By the carriers, but Samsung will have it by the end of next month to the carriers. It was an article here today or yesterday

Thank you very much really aappreciate it!! And thanks for not being a dick like the other that left their comments to my question!!

Great news. Verizon would be pretty foolish if their Droids didn't receive updates as regularly as the Moto X.

I have just noticed in the picture. Why has the phone got CE 0168 marking on it when it is only sold on verizon , nowhere near Europe.

not sure why you think CE 0168 makes the phone in Europe. My Droid Maxx has that stamped on the back. I am in the US

There are numerous 'Agreements on Mutual Recognition of Conformity Assessment' between the European Union and other countries such as the USA, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Israel. Consequently, CE marking is now found on many products from these countries.

Software update OK, but how long will we be stuck on 4.2.2. I'm guessing when I trade up to a new phone.

Well, I'm not sure. This is a droid, and it's made by Motorola, so Verizon should get the update out sometime. The og droid RAZR got updated from android 2.3 to 4.0 to 4.1.2. Horridly these get similar treatment

I am really not knock anything, but it's Verizon they don't want you to update, they want you to get a new one

I've actually been waiting on getting the flex or the force because I'm waiting for them to fix their Bluetooth issue.

According to Fitbit, the issue is with Motorola not including the required Bluetooth files for sync to work.
