The Dell Mini 5, which is a sleek and sexy MID-styled device we've seen before, just got hit with some new news. It's expected to release in the US on both AT&T and T-Mobile and will maybe, hopefully run Android 2.1.

To expand, the exact wording is that it'll be running "something newer" than Android 1.6 which means either Android 2.0 or 2.1 (or maybe something even newer?), and with...

Android-powered Dell Mini 5 is destined for AT&T 3G

Phil Nickinson News Saturday, 06 February 2010

Three things I believe in: Android will dominate the universe, everybody should go sailing at least three times in their life, and Engadget's ability to parse the FCC listings. And they've done it again, matching up the Dell Mini 5 -- which we recently saw in the hands of Michael Dell himself -- with AT&...

Sure, there's that Dell Mini 3i Android phone floating around out there. But let's face it: It's a little small. Now this is more like it. This guy took a Dell Inspiron Mini 10.1-inch netbook, hacked it to pieces and turned it into a giant Mini 3i phone, complete with Android. In a word: Awesome. Peep the video of how it was done after the break. [

Dell Streak MID is rumored to make an appearance at CES next month

Phil Nickinson News Thursday, 28 January 2010

Remember the Dell Streak? Larger than a smartphone but smaller than a netbook, but running Android nonetheless? That makes it a MID, and it's now rumored that the Streak will make an appearance and/or launch at CES next month in Las Vegas. We'll be there. And if the Streak is there, we'll bring it to you. As for its plans in the United States (if any), well, that's still up in the air. [Pocket Lint via

On the other, we feel like the Mini 3i (and 3iX) is destined to fail--Dell seems to be purposely stacking the odds against the Mini 3i.

How so? Well, it looks like...

The much anticipated Dell Android Smartphone is officially official and it's headed to China & Brazil. The Dell Mini 3i, as it's known, looks like a cross between an iPhone and a Palm Pre with touches of the myTouch 3G. The Dell Mini 3i will launch on China Mobile in China without 3G and Claro in Brazil with 3G. Obviously, the biggest head scratcher is why is a big time US company not releasing their first big time phone in the US and we honestly have...

Dell Mini 3i Gets Captured in Clear Pictures

Casey Chan News Wednesday, 02 September 2009

We probably will never sniff the Dell Mini 3i aka dellphone here in the states because it rocks TD-SCDMA, which is China-only and runs the Android-based Ophone OS, which is also China-only. Why these decisions were made is beyond us but we're still interested in the progress of a dellphone so it's worthwhile to take a look at the latest leaked pictures.

In our opinion, the Dell Mini 3i hardware looks very much like the Palm Pre--it...

There you have it. A picture of the Dell Mini 3i aka dellphone in real, breathing life. Look at that polish! Look at that glare! Getting excited? Don't. Your hopes for a high-end device will be crushed when you realize that the first ever dellphone, though beautiful and runs Android, lacks WiFi and 3G. Why? Well, because China seems to have a rule that all cellphones must suck in order to gain approval.

So though these pictures show...

The Dell Android smartphone has been expected for what feels like years now so hearing that Dell is going to make an Android Smartphone is hardly surprising--what is surprising is that it's supposed to launch within the week. Brian Hart News Tuesday, 24 March 2009

Dell is living proof that cramming Android into any old generic phone design is not enough to woo cellular providers. Consumers have become a fairly tech-savvy crowd and a nifty OS alone, like Android, isn't enough if the hardware is blah.

After finding disinterest from carriers they approached, Dell is going to have to hastily return to the drawing board and find a way to design some inspiring hardware that will keep them in the Android game. Will...
