We're getting into the fall smartphone release cycle, and that means retailers are gearing up for new — and in some cases still-unannounced — smartphones. We've been tipped on what Costco's prepping — and that includes the already well-leaked Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+.
We've got one new arrival, though. And while it's not wholly unexpected, it's not yet had much mention.
When Motorola introduced the new Moto X Style a little more than a week ago in New York City, we learned that it'd only become coming to the U.S. as a "Pure Edition" — and more important that carriers didn't have any plans to sell it. But more intriguing was the Moto X Play, which brings a bigger battery (and smaller screen) to markets outside the United States. Why not here? Conventional wisdom says that phone sounds a lot like Verizon's Droid Turbo, insofar as we're talking about a Motorola phone with a big battery. And in this Costco inventory we clearly see "Turbo2."
Nothing's official until it's official, of course, and we don't really have any idea when any of this might happen. So stay tuned!
