Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

We actually dropped this date on you a few days ago, but Verizon's gone and made it official -- the LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available July 28 online and in stores. It'll run $529 for the 16GB version, or $629 for the 32GB version. Verizon's press release says it'll be available in metallic gray (see our hands-on with that version) or glossy white (our leak made it look like the white version wouldn't be available in stores), and it'll include a $25 Samsung Media Hub credit.

Data plans are as follow:

  • $30 monthly access for 2GB monthly allowance
  • $50 monthly access for 5GB monthly allowance
  • $80 monthly access for 10GB monthly allowance

Or, if you want, you can get the 16GB gray Galaxy Tab 10.1 as a wifi-only device.

Full presser's after the break.

what kind of crazy pricing is that!?! VZW is trading about $170 in subsidy for a locked in $720 over the life of the contract on the lowest plan? Only way I'd purchase this LTE version is if the ETF is $170 or $200 at the max. Otherwise it just doesn't make sense.

I'd like to solicit from ANYONE if they have any official V communication (documentation, email, etc.) stating when (as in date or range of dates) the XOOM updates would be available with the SD card and 4G LTE.

Given there isn't anything official beyond individual or blog speculation, there may be an opportunity for those of us who've purchased the 3G XOOM when first introduced to find some ambulance chaser to start a class-action.

Then again -- based on the number of us who actually got suckered into buying this overreaching product "out the gate"...there may not be enough people to participate. I'm PO'd and looking for $$ reimbursement.

Not only is this overpriced, the plans are a COMPLETE joke.

With 4g speed you will probably be streaming a fair amount of HD (Screen is HD DUH) videos. They seriously expect people to pay for their limited over priced data plans?

I have a 10.1 WIFI and can chew through 3-5 GB in 15 days with moderate/heavy use.

I would never get this device and be limited to how much data I can consume (being its so restrictive) on such a data intensive device with a beautiful HD screen.

Not only that they expect someone to pay 529 on 2 year contract?!?!?! We will look back in a year and laugh at these tablets. VZW Fail

Id love to pick one up on sprint but they dont offer a 10.1 screen tablet with 4g/3g
