Verizon is now pushing the Android 5.1 update out for the second-generation Moto E, bringing some minor UI changes and more.

This update will bump the device up to version 23.11.17, and bring a few noticeable changes as well. Included in this Android 5.1 update are a number of UI improvements, some new interruption controls, notification volume control access, and factory reset protection. These changes all come to the second-gen Moto E as part of an over-the-air update, which is pushing out now.

As with other updates, it may take a day or two before you see the update on your device. If you have already received the update, be sure to let us know in the comments below how it is working out for you.
