OnePlus One

It was exactly one year ago today when the OnePlus One "Flagship Killer" was unveiled to the world. Countless invites later, the team has grown to launch accessories and even its own OS.

The journey hasn't been a smooth one however, as the official blog post points out:

"That's not to say that it has been all roses and lollipops. We've had to put out fires big and small as we launched in new countries, rolled out our own OS, and added over 700 people to our team. We've learned some hard lessons, but have also grown stronger and better. As we continue ahead, it's now more important than ever to take a closer look at ourselves and make sure that we are on the right track."

While admitting to mistakes made and looking ahead to learning from hard lessons, the OnePlus team put together a cute video to help convey what Never Settle means for 2015.

To celebrate the anniversary, OnePlus is cutting the price of the One by $1 (or the equivalent unit in your local currency). It's by no means a substantial price reduction, but is more of a symbolic gesture – and come on, the OnePlus One is affordable enough as it is. As well as the small reduction in price for its smartphone, the company is also offering 50% off all t-shirts and select accessories on the official store.

If that wasn't enough, there's the #NeverSettle Party where you could win free t-shirts and four lucky winners will walk away with a special bundle of the OnePlus One in either black or white with a power bank charger.

See the Never Settle web page for more details.

Happy Birthday, OnePlus.
