OnePlus has sent out invites for a media event scheduled for October 12, where CEO Pete Lau and India general manager Vikas Agarwal will "reiterate the relevance of Indian market in the OnePlus growth story and announce The Next Big Step."
No confirmation as to what we'll see at the event, but it is rumored that the Chinese vendor will unveil the OnePlus Mini, offering a 5-inch display and MediaTek's Helio X10 SoC for the equivalent of $249. Ahead of the event, Lau posted the following image on China's Weibo (where he posts under his Chinese name Liu ZuoHu), which suggests that the device may be called the OnePlus X. Going by the image, it is also possible that the vendor may announce a fitness band.
OnePlus is focusing its attention on the Indian market, launching a promotion yesterday through which it would deliver the OnePlus One to buyers in Bengaluru in under 60 minutes. If you don't get the handset delivered at your door in an hour, it's free.
We'll know more on OnePlus' plans for India on Monday. In the meantime, what do you think the vendor will announce next week?
