Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Finally, just shy of two months since the phone was first announced by Google and Samsung and after who knows how many unofficial release dates, the Galaxy Nexus has a launch date for Verizon. And that date is ... drum roll, please ...

Dec. 15. And the price: $299 on contract. Mobile hotspot access will cost an extra $20 a month and will serve up to 10 Wifi devices.

So, now that that's settled, here are a couple of links you need to check out before you seal the deal:

So that's it, folks. It's finally time. Full presser's after the break.

Note: Here's the explantion on the press release saying "today" and being dated Dec. 15 -- Verizon, in its initial e-mail to us, says that "this is tomorrow's press release so it currently says 'now available.' None of this is under embargo." Hope that clears things up.

I hate what verizon has done to this. That is a very nice phone but it should NOT have Nexus in the name!

I`m wondering why are you saying that! I had VZW TBOLT and Sprint Motorola Photon, on VZW TBOLT or the 4G LTE inside my house and the clinic where I`m working no signal on VZW,but Sprint and AT&T phones in both areas has signal and working fine. And to who`s rushing to buy this phone just wait until January 6th 2012, to see the CES... There is punchs phone coming in the first half of the 2012 with QUAD Core Processor, each core equal to 1.5GH.. So good luck GN on two years contracts. This phone it`s an old news now,it is good if came out three months back.

Hey Mhmmdy123.. Thanks for picking up where I left off.. I have been trying to tell them that since early November.. The Window on this phone has come.. and gone.. anyone locking into this for $500-$800( Tax & Accessories ) A 2yr Contract and only a 2 Gig a month Data Package is... Well.. Not Thinking with a clear head.. If you are grandfathered in like us old timers at Verizon with Unlimited Internet Access AND you have been saving your Upgrade.. Then this is a phone along with KAL-EL based phones to consider.. But with KAL-EL what? 22 days away from Previewing You should consider waiting.. And with the Quad-Core based phones I am sure you will be able to get on Sprint With Unlimited Data Plans so you can ACTUALLY USE THE PHONE, it makes even more sense to wait and get a very powerful unit with 2012 Technolgy.. Guys Verizon's website has a great Useage Meter. You plug in what you do Web, Streaming Music, Netflix, Slingbox and how many Minutes/Hours you do it a day.. and it will tell you how much data thats going to take every month.. Just 25 web pages a day and 30 minutes of Netflix a day is 2 Gigs of data a month.. Please think about it.. This is like buying a Hot Rod and not Considering what the Insurance and Maintenance will Cost..

Blazing on my 1,300 mhz Droid Charge.. Awaiting KAL-EL...

Why do you guys waste your time bitching about what other people want to buy? Go get what you want and leave me to my ice cream sandwich!

Except you won't see any of those on verizon any time soon. Verizon is last to get everything phone wise and this will be no different. You act like those phones won't get delayed too. You keep blazing along with your charge, you will be waiting just as long as people were for the nexus.

LOL so you are saying that quad cores will have 6k GH. nah its 1.5 across to board. learn your tech before you spout your garbage

I would have MUCH preferred VZW to have added an GS2 choice - then I could have been using what I happen to find a better choice than the GNexus (better camera, LOUDER speaker) that will too get ICS (I'm find with Gingerbread for now).

I've had to try a trial on Sprint, have two Epic Touches that we LOVE but had to cancel Sprint because of 100 kbps down speeds. They let us keep the phones, we use the GS2's on WiFi daily, but it sucks that I can't activate them or have bought the same model on VZW.

So now I've been waiting to replace my orig Droid and almost thought to get a Skyrocket but I can't bring myself to AT&T and leaving VZW will lose the unlimited data (for when they do get a phone that I really want / like).

I guess I will try the GNexus but if the camera is not near the quality of the GS2 which I'm used to and the speaker is as low as the Galaxy S or Droid Charge - I will return the GNexus - then back to sqaure one.

Why can't VZW offer a Galaxy SII variant??????????

Eh... not really. The unlocked GSM version doesn't have Google Wallet included. And you have to root to install it.

The only phone with native non-hacked Google Wallet is the Sprint Nexus S 4G.

I'm saying goodbye to AT&T. Was out doing so price comparision shopping the other day (girlfriend has VZW, me - AT&T). went to the AT&T store and they told me I'd be better off on Verizon and they wouldn't be able to compete with them? Really? Thats not a way to keep me around...so, picking up the Nexus tomorrow!

I just switched from ATT to VERIZON and cant be any happier...4G is blazing fast and coverage everywhere in CT...Got the double data 10G for $50 minus the employee discount 17% OFF so I'm in good shape...I got 2 Htc REZOUNDS from Amazon for a penny.... Not looking back to ATT or SPRINT ..i had both companies for a while...cheers

And within a short while you'll be on T-Mobile, "not looking back" at ATT, Sprint and Verizon. And then when you no longer get along with T-mobile, where will you go? Move out of the country?

Verizon waited way too long to release this. That being said, though I really wanted the GN too, rather than try to get the "slower" HSPA+ version to run it on ATT, I'll stick with my SII Skyrocket, and hope ICS comes to me sooner than later. :)

Wait...what? It says on there several times that it's available TODAY. Is this leaked and not supposed to be posted till tomorrow? And if so.. I gotta be the asshole and say... how do we know this is still valid?

Good point. It says "now available", and nowhere does it mention tomorrow's date. What if this is just a doc that's been written up to be used whenever that day arrives?

Thought I was the only one who saw the same thing. Guessing it is a leaked memo to be posted for tomorrow.

Here it was entertaining watching the betting pools for when this sucker would be released. Now what am I going to read on the internet?

whats the off contract price tho...thats the only thing that can ruin it for me....i wont go higher than $649

Dammit VZW. Now add it to the site so I can upgrade my Incredible. I don't want to give you $35 for activation.

can't wait till after Christmas saving all money to go buy this beautiful phone then selling my charge to regain some can not wait

This is just another leaked document. The press release does not appear on the offical verizon site, and it does say Today.

I do which they would release the damn thing so I can stop having to wade through all these nonsense articles about it. Geesh!

Finally! If true, won't have to see all the blasted posts about this phone anymore! I've come to loathe the thing! :)

*taps everyone on their back" We finally made it guys! SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS!!! On Verizon of course ;)!

calling now to confirm! looks like this is bogus no store is willing to make an appointment with me and they all say its not coming out tomorrow.

Well I cannot confirm ANY twitter message from Samsung, or VZW because for the last 10 minutes i get "Twitter is over capacity" Ugh!!

Ahhh, finally... So they don't have to hold back my ICS upgrade for Nexus S anymore :D

Anyway, what the hack is that 3 metal point on the left? I can connect it with my Furby? :D

I just talked to a verizon "official retailer" and the person initially said, "no not yet but we can contact you when it is.... we can't sell it till the 15th." I said, "As in tomorrow?" co-worker in the background, "Yes, we're selling them tomorrow, we'll take name and number and they'll be guaranteed to get one." So they're supposed to call ?? me tomorrow. They seemed a bit confused but it does sound hopeful.

That's really strange... The reps should be trained already in advance for the release of this phone, they should already be prepared for any questions lol maybe they forgot tomorrow is the 15th?

It won't be in there for sure. VZW is part of the ISIS alliance, as are at&t and t-mobile. That's why it's Sprint only in the US...

Just talked with a corporate store that confirmed yes, tomorrow. What's up with some stores wanting to make "appointments" and others don't seem to care?

Called my local store; they have plenty in stock. Made an appointment for 10:30 (after I drop the wife off at work at 10:00). Will be either swapping the RAZR I bought on 12/3 or adding a new line of service with the $250 gift card I got when I traded in my Photon 4G on the RAZR. Either way, the Nexus will be the 6th phone I've had this year (Evo 4G, Evo 3D, Photon 4G, Epic Touch 4G, back to Photon 4G, DROID RAZR, Galaxy Nexus)...

I'm wondering the same thing. I'll just have to try and add it to my cart tonight to see. I'm guessing it'll be around $600.

Sure hope you're right. I searched the web and the best end-date for that promotion I can find is that it will last "through the holidays."

Contradicting that, however, is the above notice that clearly states 2GB for $30. Likely a deal breaker for me; the final straw.

I can care less about the phone I just want 4.0 ICS for my Epic Touch 4g. Just got my update this. morning and at least ill have a MicroSD card slot. And at the same time wait til the quadcores come.

Dear Verizon,

I hate you for this atrociously handled launch. The way you kept delaying it, the way you ignored the pleas from thousands of your customers for any word about the phone, etc.

Now then....how does 10am tomorrow work for you? I have handfuls of cash to throw your way.

i love how android central has the ticker-tape red news banner at the top of the page for breaking stories lately. awesome! haha! :)

Any word if amazon or wirefly have this for preorder or available tomorrow? I've always been month to month and want to get on contract for this phone so I can lock in my unlimited data. If I picked this up at the Verizon store tomorrow I believe I have to pay tax on the full retail price? Can anyone in California confirm that? Thanks.

Its coming, My uncle is a Store manager , he called me and is putting up all the demo kits and everything, I know what you all mean, sure it can happen but very unlikely at this point.

its happening,my friend just texted me,he works at a corp. store told me they just got the email to seel tomorrow. he did say though good luck with the phone the battery life sux on it for a phone worth that kind of money

It's sad, but I'm actually feeling pretty bummed out that I can't get this device on Sprint... Like truly depressed...

It's cool to see all the excitement about this device. The hype and build-up was something else. Hopefully Galaxy Nexus is fully finished and bug-free, thus making the almost insurmountable wait for its release well worth it. I'm tied up with a Rezound for now, but will definitely be checking this phone out tomorrow at my Vzn store.

I wonder how long it will take for the Galaxy Nexus to come down in price. The Droid Charge came down quite a bit.

Once again Sprint is behind the eight ball with phones. Why does that happen.. I refuse to pay Verizon's rediculous high prices for phone service (data plans) to be limited. Come on Sprint. Get with the program. You were the first with 4G now last in going forward with your network.
