Motorola Droid Bionic

If you're looking to get a sneak peek at the current iteration of the Motorola Droid Bionic, better do it quick, 'cause we still don't have a clear idea of when it'll actually be released, and it might not look like this when it finally does hit the streets.

But what you see here -- and there's plenty more where this came from after the break -- is another look at the Droid Bionic, same as what we saw at CES almost four months ago. Yes, it's been that long since we got our first look at the Droid Bionic.

There's nothing too out of the ordinary here, except that it appears to be running stock Android -- or at least it's missing the Blur skin on top. Otherwise, Android 2.2.1. We're not sure just how recent these pictures are, but we do know they're from after CES, if that's any help.

So the big question is will the Droid Bionic be released as the same phone we saw at CES? It's really starting to look unlikely. Motorola's fact sheet, dated April 19, states that it's coming this summer. But it also drops this little bombshell:

"Based on compelling feedback since the show, we are incorporating several enhancements to make this an even better consumer experience. This includes expanded features, functionality and an improved form factor."

So take a good look, folks. Because this might be the last time you see this old Droid Bionic. More pics are after the break.

What would be awesome is for them to have delayed it, so they can unlock the bootloader. I hope this hits the street by July so I can upgrade when I'm eligible for that last one I'll get. Moto, please make me like you again.

I actually liked the form factor. I was not happy about it not being stock Android, but if I am going to stay on Verizon, this was the phone I was waiting for.

Agreed, it was the first device from Moto that I actually enjoyed the look of. I was definitely considering getting this device, and was willing to overlook motoblur even. It was actually the only thing keeping me from switching to Tmobile for the Sensation. Now I may just wait to see if the Galaxy S2 comes to all carriers like the first one did. If thats the case it might be the new hot girl. The sensation is a great device too, but I'm convinced the S2 is the new standard in full featured devices, besides with HTC's track record with battery life...although to me HTC has the best ui integration. I currently have the incredible and i still love it. Hopefully whatever they come up with will have as nice of form factor as the almost released Bionic.

i say leave it and release it! i loved the blur on the X but i love stock even more! give us the bionic with a front facer, an 8 mp rear a 4.3 display with those touch buttons and LEAVE IT STOCK! vzw needs another stock device bad. thanks moto.

I don’t agree with you, 4.3” size is awesome. They should release 2 phones, one at 3.7” and one at 4.3” with the same specs, except the screen. That way everyone will be happy.

Maybe they are decreasing the screen size to 3.7-4.0 inch instead of 4.3. Hopefully a lot more people in the real world like smaller screens than it appears on these enthusiast's sites because I think 4.3 is too big for a phone.

Agree, 4 inch screen is the perfect size for a phone. Plenty big enough for viewing and small enough to put in your pocket. Phones are just getting too damn big. Just my Opinion.

Do not release this phone as is! Bump the 8mp camera to 13 and the front .3mp camer to at least 1.3mp maybe even 3mp! Then bump the RAM to 1gb THEN release it. Thats just what I think

THANK GOD about the form factor. This phone's specs are perfect, exactly what I want, but the shape is truly heinous. It needs to be square with an edge-to-edge screen.

Also, please don't encourage smaller screens. 4.3 is the perfect size.
