The ASUS ZenFone Selfie has another trick up its sleeve: A unique accessory that aims to make it easier to capture your mug.

Announced alongside the ZenFone Selfie, the ASUS Selfie Swing is a rather wacky accessory that plays to the selfie-taking target audience of the phone. It comes in two parts: First, a case into which you slot the phone, and secondly an extended hinge that can function in a couple of interesting ways.

In stand mode, the Selfie Swing is designed to support the phone in an upright position, letting you take selfies from any angle using the camera app's timer function. And when held in the hand, the swing aims to let you take your selfies from an even wider angle.

At least that's how it's supposed to work. The Selfie Swing on show at Computex was an early model which was prone to toppling over. So there's clearly some refinement to be done to make the hinge strong enough to support the phone in place, while also being loose enough to shift between positions on the fly.

No release date has been announced for the ZenFone Selfie or its accompanying swing, but we'll be on the lookout for both in the months ahead. In the meantime, feast your eyes on this hinged beast below.
