UK residents who want to get a smartphone that could be used by a certain fictional secret agent should put Wednesday, September 16 on their calendar alerts. That's when Vodafone plans to start taking pre-orders for the special black version of the Sony Xperia X5 that's also been made to promote the upcoming James Bond movie "Spectre".
Vodafone says its version of the Xperia Z5 will be able to download special "Spectre" themes and screensavers, along with an exclusive Moneypenny vlog featuring actor Naomie' Harris as M's always efficient assistant.
Pre-ordering the 'Bond Phone' gives you the opportunity to enter into a prize draw to win one of 50 Aston Martin Experience days where you could spend the day putting a range of iconic Aston Martins through their paces at Millbrook's legendary testing tracks. Customers who pre-order the Bond Phone on a Red Value 4GB Bundle or bigger will also be given the option to buy the high-speed, high-quality splashproof AZ1 Action Cam by Sony for just £49, saving £200 on the original RRP of £249 – and allowing them to capture the action from any special mission.
There's no word on when the special black "Spectre" edition of the Xperia Z5 will start shipping in the UK. The phone will be available for free on a Vodafone Red Value 4GB Bundle with a price of £49 per month.
