Verizon debuts new $15 Unlimited Together plan with unlimited calling to select countries

Verizon has a new plan option for people who make calls outside the U.S. dubbed Unlimited Together - World. The $15 monthly add-on provides unlimited voice calling minutes to landlines in over 70 countries and unlimited calling minutes to mobile numbers in over 40 countries. Additionally, rates are discounted for calls in over 160 other countries. Verizon's VP of Marketing Rob Miller comments:
Talking with family and friends abroad should not be limited by distance or a cut-rate network. With the introduction of Unlimited Together, it is easier and more affordable than ever for our customers to call their loved ones and talk as long as they want.
The new program can be added to any post-paid service plan. See Verizon's International Services page (opens in new tab) for more details, and the full press release is below.

Another money grab by Verizon, LMAO.
-
Seriously?
Whatsapp,Hangouts, Facebook Messenger are free if both parties have the app.
If you're still calling a landline abroad, then maybe this is for you. -
I said nothing about a money grab. I don't use Verizon, so no money out of my pocket.
-
I call my family in Iraq. They don't have good internet over there yet and when we use VOIP apps most of the time it cuts and not clear. So I have been using the Verizon 1,000 minutes for $20 internatinoal calling.. Now they removed it and replaced it with this new plan but with this change, Iraq and many other countries are not included any longer. Thats a big problem instead of help.

Verizon is running out of ways to stimulate revenue growth, it looks like that idiotic you don't need unlimited data commercial did not fare too well, LMAO. And I am a Verizon customer with an unlimited data plan, don't know for how much longer though, even though I don't really use more than 20 GB a month, but it's good to have I guess.
-
The plan is nonsense. My wife and I (living in US) both have family and friends in Germany. We call many of them frequently. Most of them use Whatsapp. And if not we call them with Google Voice - 1 cent per minute! I talk hours with my dad every month and once in a blue moon I'm charged $10 to recharge my GV balance. If that $15 charge by big V would be per plan and not per phone it could actually be getting interesting for me. As it stands right now: nice try Verizon!

Google voice doesn't require a smartphone for either side.
-
I saw unlimited and 15 dollars and the first thing that came to my mind was unlimited data. Well of course not.
-
BS, they throttle me, what they do is push you to 3G, which is slow as molasses. I am one of the few that still has the unlimited data plan, and they are really trying to get me off it, LMAO.
-
So many other ways to communicate for free that this is Verizon being greedy like always.
-
They are greedy. Verizon was already offering a 1,000 Minues international calling for $20. The New unlimitec calling plan for $15 offers way less because it does not include all the countries as before.
For example, the country I call using the 1,000 minutes is no longer offered with this new unlimited plan but now that country which is Iraq, is counted as per minute which is around $0.98 per minute.. -
Shut up already, freaking Verizon defender and veribot :/
-
What you don't realize is that they removed many countries and many others no longer have to mobile calling. I can get international calling from many other companie such as Comcast, Verizion, T-Mobile but none had as many countries as the 1,000 minutes Verizon used to offer.
-
This is actually a bad change.

Personally, I don't think you should be allowed to call a Terrorist State.
-
Personally I don't think you know what a terrorist state is. Iraq is not a terrorist state, in fact their government is currently clearing cities of ISiS.
