Honor 6 Plus

Following yesterday's news that the Honor 6 Plus would be launching in Europe, Huawei has announced that it will be bringing the mid-range device to India. The device will be made available in the country later this month, with no word yet on pricing.

The imminent launch of the Honor 6 Plus follows the introduction of the Honor 3C and Honor 6 in the country last year. While exact sales numbers were not revealed, Huawei has mentioned that it will focus its efforts on the Indian market this year. President of Honor Dragon Yin had this to say at a media event today at Mobile World Congress:

With the launch of 4G in India, we are sure that we will be able to increase our market share by introducing affordable 4G smart phones in India. Our differential lies in our quality, our ability to innovate and each of our products is a result of extensive research and development. We are expecting that the Honor6 plus to take the market by storm.

In terms of hardware, the Honor 6 Plus features glass at the front and back, flanked by metal running around the sides. The specs include a 5.5-inch full-HD display, octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 925 CPU, 3GB RAM, 16/32GB internal memory, microSD card slot, dual 8MP cameras at the back, another 8MP camera at the front, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 3,060mAh battery. The software side of things sees Android 4.4.2 KitKat running atop Huawei's Emotion UI 3.0.

No details on an exact launch date for the Honor 6 Plus as yet, but the device will be available for sale exclusively on Flipkart.
