Samsung Galaxy Metrix 4G

If you are a US Cellular customer who happens to be in the market for a new Android device featuring a physical QWERTY keyboard you will want to check out the Samsung Galaxy Metrix 4G. Officially available as of today, this phone features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1GHz processor under the hood. With a 5MP camera on the back, and 1.3MP on the front the device is certainly capable of capturing your memories as they take place. The QWERTY keyboard offers five rows of separate keys, which is sure to help you answer those texts, emails, or shoot out a quick tweet without any delays. Additionally the Samsung Galaxy Metrix 4G is also a 4G LTE device, so if US Cellular offers 4G LTE in your area you will now be able to take advantage of that.

The pricing of the device is a bit odd, but still reasonably priced. If you are in a 4G LTE market, or a market that will be live by the end of 2012 the device will run you $129 after the $100 mail in rebate currently available. If your area is not in the immediate 4G LTE plans the device will run you $179 after the same $100 mail in rebate.

US Cellular makes the Samsung Galaxy Metrix 4G available today

As a supporter of Qwerty phones, I can honestly say that this phone just screams fail. And the pricing doesn't make sense either. So, if I will have 4g LTE by the end of the year, the phone is cheaper than if I won't have 4G? So, those people on US Cellular that want a Qwerty phone but won't get 4G by the end of the year have no incentive to get this phone this year or probably at all.

Verizon also did this phone last year, and they were 1 year late and now how can us cellular come out with a galaxy s one when the gs3 came out 2 months ago. This is an Epic Fail (pun intended)

Its the epic 4G with the radios swapped out. For some odd reason this samsung phone just won't stop popping back up. I still have the original sprint version I am trying to sell. Go figure.

Samsung must have a shit load of this old hardware lying around. It was a good phone 2 years ago and I'm sure still OK today but the price is just wrong.

its not the epic 4g its the stratosphere from verizon. same everything. the epic 4g had a different shape and keyboard. the stratosphere was an updated epic for verizon and is exactly identical to this phone.
