Android Quick App: Photoshop Mobile

Jared DiPane Applications Monday, 08 March 2010

If you are like me and love to take full advantage of the amazing camera that your Android device provides you (at least those of you without Droids), you probably snap tons of pictures. Sometimes they are worthy of sending off to others, and sometimes they could use some touch-ups. Without always having the PC around, having Photoshop Mobile allows quick edits and then you can send the picture on its way. Often times I find that the pictures I take could use a little more light, or would look really cool as a black and white photo, or I want to blur a part of it, and with the...

Adobe Flash is not coming to all Android phones [duh]

Erica Marchand News Sunday, 28 February 2010

We've got some good news and some bad news about those waiting to receive Adobe Flash 10.1. The good news is that it's expected to be released on Android phones coming "mid year".  Now the bad news is that the HTC Hero will not be supported.

“The HTC Hero will not be supported [because] it does not have the correct Android OS version and its...

Adobe fights claims that Flash 10.1 is an Android battery assassin

Jared DiPane News Thursday, 25 February 2010

After Adobe's first video of Flash 10.1 running on the Nexus One, it seems as though the focus was placed on the battery meter and its apparent drain during the video, instead of the Flash 10.1 and all it will bring. But after writers began noticing the video appeared to be chopped and edited, Adobe itself decided to squash the rumors and get to the bottom of things.

Adobe supplied some raw data that showed a three-hour battery...

Adobe Flash 10.1 and AIR on the Motorola Droid [AC @ MWC]

Phil Nickinson News Wednesday, 17 February 2010

Yeah, yeah. another teaser showing Adobe Flash on Android. We get it. We're as tired as seeing them as you are and are ready to see Flash 10.1 roll out. And the folks at Adobe assure us it's coming. They're just not saying when.

The good news is that that that we've gotten our hands on it, we're a little less fearful than we might have been earlier. We're not totally on board, and we can't...

Adobe AIR Coming to Android

Casey Chan News Monday, 15 February 2010

Flash has been reported to come and is still expected to come to Android but the bigger news might be Adobe announcing that they're going to bring Adobe AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) to Android. AIR will allow developers to develop one AIR-based application and be able to reach every platform. There'll be no need to tweak an app for each OS because the app would run in the AIR...

Adobe says Android not ready for Flash, will be in Q2 2010 though

Casey Chan News Wednesday, 10 February 2010

This Flash-or-no-Flash-on-Android is getting rather hard to keep track of. Somedays it looks like Android is getting Flash right around the corner, while other days it looks so far off in the future for Android to ever receive Flash. Today, it's kind of in the middle of that. Adobe told Engadget:

Support for full Flash Player 10.1 requires some enhancements to existing...

Adobe Flash 10 Beta Coming in October

Casey Chan News Wednesday, 24 June 2009

One of the things missing from Android, for better or worse, is official Flash support. We can save our 'to-flash or not-flash' arguments for later, but the truth of the matter is, Flash has become a pseudo-standard for the web--so many websites have adopted it that it's become part of the web browsing experience.

So though Android has been without Flash since its inception, make no mistake Flash is coming....

Flash Coming to Android End of 2009 ?

Casey Chan News Friday, 05 June 2009

Adobe just announced that they've set a timetable to bring Flash to Android (and other smartphone platforms) and that it'll likely happen before the end of the year. Adobe smartly realizes that the game is changing with mobile devices becoming the new PCs. And with mobile devices being used more and more, the cry for real Flash has only grown louder.

Adobe has been "reengineering its software so that Flash-based games and videos can run on...

Casey Chan News Thursday, 12 March 2009

Though we had fully expected Flash to show its pretty face in Android already, it's always a good thing when there's an official announcement. Adobe just announced at MWC that Flash is coming to Android!
