Here's a reminder, folks, that you've got five more days in our ongoing contest, and we're neck and neck with our sites sites at the moment. We're partnering with Waze to give away Galaxy Tab (or an iPad if you're feeling cross-platform). Here's how it works:

  1. Download and install Waze from the Android Market (you can use the QR code here.)
  2. Drive around with Waze and collect "Road Goodies" - which basically just means drive over the Android logos as you move about your city. As you can see above, they are *everywhere*.
  3. It's a competition between iPhone users, Android users, and BlackBerry users - which is to say you're up against the kids from TiPb and Whichever site whose users collect the most Road Goodies will win and be able to give a tablet away to one of their users - selected randomly from amongst the top 25 collectors. Remember - you only get credit for driving over the Android icons.
  4. That's it! Use Waze, collect Road Goodies, and stick it to those iPhone and BlackBerry users while automatically getting a chance to win an iPad or Tab

What's Waze, then? It's a free social mapping tool: you can get directions, find out where the traffic is, ping other users, and generally find your way around while helping other Waze users get better location and traffic information. Check out the full details on the Waze Blog.

Reminder: Win a Galaxy Tab from Waze (and help beat TiPB and CrackBerry!)

Throw in the Cell bill for a year and I might be interested.

Seriously can't see the TiPb folks storming the Sammy, they are probably spending their time trying (unsuccessfully) to laugh it off.

I've been using this the entire week, but the craptacular Captivate GPS issues constantly prevent me form gaining points. I'll also drive right over Android icon and get no response or points.

Aside form the game aspect, it's a nifty little app thats moderately helpful on a day to day basis.

I ran over my first android today. It was actually in a housing track, I went over it and nothing happened, I turned around to try it on the other side of the street and it worked. Dang though it was probably 10 - 20 feet difference, if the contest has to be that exact it will be hard to get hardly any androids from waze. So far the app is not too bad.

Well, my small town had a total of 3 Android icons... which I easily collected in 5 minutes.

Guess they don't add more daily or anything. +3 is all I can help out with!

thats what i've ran into. the first day i saw icons everywhere but after first day theres been nothing. i've gathered about a total of 5. but like i posted earlier, i have no idea how the waze people know we are a part of this website.
