New Huawei Watch 'Elegant' and 'Jewel' models launch for Q1 2016 release

Though Huawei already offers a respectable set of case and band options for the Huawei Watch, it's expanding its lineup today with the new "Elegant" and "Jewel" models. The design of the two new models skews toward the female contingent, with gold cases, thinner bands and in the case of the Jewel model, jewels on the bezel. Naturally they're being shown off with some pre-loaded watch faces that match that aesthetic as well.

The watches are identical in terms of specs to the original slate of designs, with the one key exception being an overall case that's actually larger than the original — now 44mm instead of 42. That's an odd bump in size for a watch that you'd expect to be smaller considering its positioning, particularly with how big the Huawei Watch already is. But in the grand scheme of this big of a watch 2mm isn't going to be a deal breaker, and the models seem to offer a bit slimmer of bands (though the lugs are the same 18mm).

Huawei isn't spilling too many details on the availability of the new Elegant and Jewel models, though we know to expect them at some point in Q1 of this year. Pricing isn't specified just yet other than the fact that they'll land in the current Huawei Watch range of $349 to $799 — and just like the original models we can likely expect a few different choices of bands with a variety of looks and prices.
