Huawei is now taking registrations for Ascend Mate 2 users to test out the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

If you happen to own a Huawei Ascend Mate 2, the company has just opened up registration for interested users to test out the upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop. From Huawei:

Huawei will invite an initial group of Mate2 owners for this first stage of testing and then gradually expand the program as we get closer to the broader launch next month. We will continue to enhance the software, even after the initial version is made available, to deliver the best experience to you, our customers. We appreciate your patience as we continue to work on the Android L update for Mate2.

This is great news for owners of the device. Late last year, Huawei announced that the Ascend Mate 2 would not be upgraded to KitKat, which was a bit disappointing to say the least. However, the company later revealed that the device would be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop sometime in the first half of 2015, and it looks like Huawei is on track to (just barely) meet that goal. If you'd like to apply for the test, you can do so by leaving a comment on Huawei's blog post from the link below.
