Huawei decided to take a stance against bezels with the Ascend Mate 7, and it looks like the Chinese manufacturer is continuing the trend with the Ascend GX1. Boasting a 6-inch 720p display and an 80.5 percent screen to body ratio, the Ascend GX1 is now available for sale in China to the equivalent of $255 (1590 Chinese Yuan).
Other hardware specs of the Ascend GX1 include a 1.2 GHz quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 8 MP camera at the back and a 2 MP shooter up front. Also included is dual-SIM functionality and LTE connectivity (TDD and FDD LTE), along with a 3,500 mAh battery. In terms of software, the device features Huawei's Emotion UI atop Android 4.4 KitKat. With dimensions of 161 x 84.5 x 9.2 mm and an overall weight of 173 grams, the GX1 is certainly large by anyone's standards, although the device does offer a lot for its asking price.
The Ascend GX1 is currently available for sale in China via Vmall, Huawei's official online store. There is no word yet as to when (or if) the device will be available in countries outside the mainland.
