Facebook Mobile

We just received an invite to a "Mobile Event at Facebook HQ" scheduled for Wednesday Nov 3.  No press release, no fanfare, no inkling of what it might be, just the invitation.  When thinking to ourselves, "Why would Facebook invite Android Central to their big Mobile shin-dig?" we can come up with a few answers.  Maybe there's going to be a new and improved Facebook client for Android with deep ties into Gingerbread.  Maybe there really is going to be a Facebook phone.  Or maybe it's our dashing good looks and the great conversation we would bring along.  We'll know more Wednesday.

Honestly. I couldn't care less what Facebook came out with. They could invent site to site beaming tech and I would pass on it. With their blase attitude towards security and pretty much the second most arrogant company behind Apple. There is a reason I closed my Facebook account.

I don't need to tell everyone I know I'm standing at a traffic light and waiting to cross the street and that my mood is "impatient". I have no need for Facebook. More power to anyone that does, but it just doesn't effect me.

Honestly. If the poster has anything to do with it lets break it down here. When kids would use 2 cups and a string, it would be to talk to one another. Also what has the Android app been lacking on Facebook? Ahhhh...yes its been lacking Facebook chat. So I would bet the farm they are at the least going to release(for Froyo/Gingerbread)Facebook chat. Schwing!

Chaos. Thats actually a good thought.

Please, much improved Android app for Facebook, on par with the iOS or better. Thats all I ask for.

Also please allow notifications lead to places within the facebook app.

Yes, nothing worse then have to leave the app to see people's comments. Minor but annoying.

good call on Facebook chat! That seems to be a good bet here! Although I have taken a liking to "go chat" so hopefully it's better than that! I can't wait to find out wednesday...

Interesting that Android Central was invited. This is good.

I hope they are updating the facebook app so it doesnt have to go the web browser for every damn thing including things you can actually do on the app.

I guess I'll reply to your post and agree with it; my post was eaten by the spam filter...

I actually find touch.facebook.com to be better than the Android Facebook app.

Ashton says:

I just want my status and pictures to post to others' news feeds when I update from the app like everyone else... :(

Hopefully a new and improved Facebook app but I get the feeling of something phone related since the 2 cups with a string is pretty significant with a phone.

I'm calling it: Facebook integration with Gingerbread.

Cubfan says:

Hard not to improve the Android App. It's about as pitiful as apps get.

Kiserai says:

Please just fix the regular Android app!!! It's about as half-assed as any app I've ever seen!

ReggieTee says:

New and improve facebook app? Wishful thinking; I doubt they'd call a press event to announce a new and improved facebook app.

mike340t says:

Well please tell them that the FB app just blows.. I don't get why it can't be a functional integrated app like the one on my ol BB... They and FourSquare took the easy way out with half-assed apps..

meccariello says:

I like Facebook. I have used it to reconnect with so many Ike friends and family members that were lost decades ago

HERE HERE! The current app is woeful - no notifications, everything has to be oppened in your browser, no chat...

To get around notifications I use Bloo, which unfortunately the developer has abandoned after being employed by Logitech and as for chat, I used Trillian which is awesome!
