Facebook, the social network that loves to collect information, is making it a bit easier for Android users to keep some details private. The company has added support for Tor through the Orbot proxy app on Android devices, allowing you to keep your location and more private. Facebook previously added support for Tor-enabled browsers, and now it is bringing that same level of support to Android users.

We commonly receive requests for additional platform support beyond the browser, and thanks to a project initiated by a summer intern at Facebook and subsequently picked up by our Protect and Care team in London, we are now offering experimental support for using Facebook over Tor via the Orbot proxy app for Android devices.

This new feature will be rolling out over the next few days, so keep an eye out for it. Does the added Tor support in the Android app make you want to reinstall the app, or will you be leaving it off your phone? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
