Google TV starts to make a lot more sense once you've actually seen it. And Google's gone and sexied up its Google.com/TV page ahead of this week's launch. Like many, I've been itching to get my hands on the T-Mobile G2, and today was my lucky day.  It's the latest in the HTC cadre of Android goodness, and if first impressions stand, a fine successor to the Nexus One or a great way to get introduced to Android.  Brushed aluminum, Teflon soft coating, solid build quality (at least on the ones I tried out), and a unique look and feel will make this one a winner for many of you guys.  Follow the break to see my initial thoughts and check out the hands on video for yourself! Word on the street this morning is that the DI18 update to the Sprint Epic 4G -- that one fixes 3G upload speeds, Wifi battery drain issues, the inability to download from the Amazon MP3 store over 4G and e-mail lag -- has begun pushing out again after being on hold for a couple days. We haven't gotten ours yet, but we've gotten a few e-mails from those who say they have. Meet the new T-Mobile myTouch -- its second HSPA+ device (which made an early appearance on T-Mo's website earlier today). Manufactured by HTC, the new myTouch features a 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen, a Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor at 1GHz, 5-megapixel front camera -- a front facing camera, as well -- 8GB microSD card, Swype and will launch with Android 2.2. Other specs, such as on-board memory and RAM, weren't announced.

It'll be available in four colors -- white, black, plum or red. T-Mobile says the myTouch should be available by the holiday season. Full presser after the break. More in our T-Mobile myTouch forums.

T-Mobile shows it means business, slipping into the myTouch announcement that it plans to have HSPA+ coverage in over 100 markets and covering 200 million people before the end of the year.  While T-Mobile calls the network 4G, or 4G-like, quite a few Sprint subscribers (and even a Sprint executive or two) would beg to differ.  Call it whatever you like, just get it here, please!

With its latest expansion, T-Mobile’s HSPA+ footprint now includes Biloxi and Gulfport, Miss.; Denver, Colo.; Huntsville, Ala.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Norfolk, Va.; Omaha, Neb.; Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz.; Salt Lake City, Utah; San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland and Sacramento, Calif.; and West Palm Beach, Fla. T-Mobile expects to reach 100 major metropolitan areas and 200 million people in 2010.

Quite the bold statement.  And if it happens as planned, a bold move as well.

We've never really had any doubt that the HTC myTouch HD was real -- given the early leaked image and the T-Mobile literature. And here it is, plain as day, on T-Mobile's website, quietly tucked away until you search for "HSPA" (albeit under the name "T-Mobile myTouch). It's listed as being "priced as low as FREE," but that's as likely to be a typo as it is correct, right? Clicking the details button does no good, and this likely will be pulled at some point (or actually announced). Plus, still no word on when we'll see this guy, so stay tuned. [T-Mobile via Engadget]

In this crazy little world we called Android, we're all guilty of throwing around that four-letter word: Open. From the top -- Google CEO Eric Schmidt -- all the way to the bottom -- your friendly neighborhood blogger -- we wield the word like a sword when convenient, or as a shield when necessary.

The exact definition of "open" in the general sense has been debated long before Android arrived on the scene, and it'll be debated long after Android assumes its rightful position atop the smartphone heap. (See what we did there?) You have your ideas of what "open" means. We have ours. And we share them, after the break. You're not going to agree with them all. Hell, you're not going to like them all. And that's OK.
