At a media event in New Delhi, ASUS launched its first selfie-focused phone, the ZenFone Selfie, in India. The handset shares a lot of design characteristics as the ZenFone 2, with the major differentiator being 13MP cameras at the front and back with dual LED dual-tone flash.
The phone features a laser autofocus unit similar to the LG G4 that can focus as fast as 0.3 seconds. Specs include a 5.5-inch Full HD display backed by Gorilla Glass 4, 3GB RAM, 16 or 32GB internal memory, dual-SIM, LTE Category 4 connectivity and a 3,000mAh battery. Another distinguishing feature is the Snapdragon 615 SoC, which is a departure from the Intel Z35xx series of processors used in other models in the ZenFone lineup.
On the software side of things, the ZenFone Selfie runs ASUS' latest version of ZenUI atop Android 5.0 Lollipop. Available in Pure White, Chic Pink and Aqua Blue color variants, the phone will retail for ₹15,999 ($250) in India.
