Qualcomm is going to begin changing its branding and messaging in relation to Snapdragon processors to now call them the "Qualcomm Snapdragon platform."
In its Q1 2016 earnings report, Qualcomm says that it expects to see its chipset business improve in the latter half of 2015 thanks to strong traction from the Snapdragon 820.
Qualcomm has tapped Samsung to produce its Snapdragon 820 processor, which will begin arriving in smartphones in the first half of this year.
At CES 2016 in Las Vegas, chip giant Qualcomm outlined plans to bring its latest Snapdragon 820 processor to upcoming phones and automotive systems.
According to a report out of South Korea, Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 820 will feature custom CPU cores clocked at 3.0GHz, with Samsung said to manufacture the core on its 14nm FinFET process.
