What you need to know
- Razer announced Axon Mobile, a version of its Axon Wallpaper Engine for Android devices, which is set to debut on July 15 on the Play Store.
- The app brings creations from licensed IPs, creators, and artists who've made "high-quality animated visuals."
- Razer is running a pre-registration period until July 15, and engaging with it enters users for a chance to win one of six prizes.
Razer, the popular gaming (computer) hardware company, is bringing some of its PC flair to Android. Users should keep an eye out because there's an ongoing pre-registration period, too.
Razer announced that it's bringing Axon Mobile, an Android version of its Axon Wallpaper Engine, to Android devices later in July. Desktop users might be familiar with Razer's "immersive and personalized" wallpaper engine. The brand states that's continued to "expand its library of immersive wallpapers, artist collaborations, and visual experiences" to transform digital spaces.
The experience of snagging artwork from licensed IPs, creators, and artists is something Razer says it's bringing to Android during its official July 15 launch. Through Axon Mobile (Axon Wallpaper Engine), Android users can browse the app's library and download "high-quality animated visuals and striking designs inspired by games, entertainment, and original Razer content."
Users can customize the content they see. Razer says it'll let you choose five wallpaper categories you might be interested in. This will likely affect your "For You" page, which refreshes its main page to help you find your next favorite wallpaper.
From now until July 15, Android users can pre-register for the Axon Wallpaper Engine on the Google Play Store. In doing so, you could "win one of six prizes—three Razer Hammerhead V3 HyperSpeed and three Razer Kishi V3." However, once the app launches, Razer says it's running another event from July 15 to July 29.
Engaging with the company's social media post about Axon Mobile's launch enters you for a chance to win "one of three Razer bundles, each featuring the Razer Kraken V4, Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K, and Razer BlackWidow V4 TKL HyperSpeed."
There are tons of Android gamers
While Razer primarily focuses on the computer hardware side of the industry, it hasn't forgotten mobile users. Android devices have found themselves in its crosshairs for major releases like the BlackShark V3 Pro in 2025. The V3 Pro felt like Razer was taking Android gaming seriously with a headset that delivered quality audio and comfort. ANC (active noise cancellation) was a highlight for Android Central's Brady Snyder, who said it performed better than he thought.

On the other hand, we have various Android gaming controllers, like the Kishi V2 Pro. Razer's controllers turn your phone into a handheld console. At the time, the Kishi V2 Pro launched with a 3.5mm audio jack and HyperSense Haptics. Since then, the company's come back with the Kishi V3, V3 Pro, and the V3 XL for phones, mini tablets, and full-sized tablets.
Android Central's Take
I can respect the focus Razer is putting on Android. For many, gaming on a phone is the most feasible way for them to enjoy what they love. It has brought gaming controllers into the Android world before, and they're interesting, to say the least. However, bringing this PC-like wallpaper to phones is another step. I feel as though this would attract people who game and those who don't. These are some pretty clean, immersive wallpapers. You don't have to be a gamer to enjoy them.
