Matt Swatsky, Lutron's Vice-President of the Residential Mid-market Business, said in a statement:

It's essentially weatherproof, dirtproof, and sunproof. A homeowner can now enjoy all the benefits of a Caséta system for their outside spaces.

Thanks to its "best-in-class" construction and an IP65 rating, the Caséta outdoor smart plug is claimed to be capable of withstanding even the most extreme weather. You can easily control connected devices through the Lutron app, the Pico remote control, or just your voice. The outdoor smart plug can work with Amazon's Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit, as well as Ring video doorbells and cameras.

When paired with a Lutron Smart Bridge, you'll be able to set custom schedules for your lights and other devices to come on or turn off at specific times and even create scenes to control multiple outdoor lights at the same time.

Lutron's Caséta outdoor smart plug will be available starting late March through major online retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot, and Lowe's for a suggested retail price of $80.
