LG's premium mid-ranger, the Velvet, will soon be launched in several markets around the world. The company today announced that the global rollout of the Velvet will begin before the end of this month.

Johan Chung, executive vice president of overseas sales and marketing at LG Mobile Communications, said in a statement:

We think today's smartphone customers want and deserve more than cookie-cutter designs and tried-and-true features. In LG VELVET, we've created a differentiated smartphone with a design that can't be confused for anything else and features with unique propositions that provide considerable value. We're confident in the message LG VELVET communicates and believe that there are customers out there who agree it's time for a change in the way smartphones are developed and marketed.

The LG Velvet will be going on sale in Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary, and Poland later this month. In the weeks ahead, the phone will be making its way to North America, Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America as well. As of now, LG hasn't revealed any information on carrier availability in the U.S. However, it is likely that the phone will be sold by all major U.S. carriers, just like the company's flagship V60 ThinQ.

In addition to the existing Illusion Sunset, Aurora Green, Aurora Gray, and Aurora White colors, the Velvet will be available in global markets in Aurora Silver and New Black colors as well.
