TCL 32-inch 720p Roku TV

Well, save some money and some space by getting a TV with an excellent smart platform built right in. Roku will be around for years, which means your TV will stay relevant for years.

Best 55" 2019 TVs:

Clarity like never before

LG 55-inch C8 OLED

The best TV you can buy, at an incredible price!

The LG C8 OLED is the best TV you can buy right now. It features an incredible OLED panel with deep blacks, vivid colors, HDR10, Dolby Vision support and so much more. Normally, it's an expensive TV but on Prime Day you can snag a great deal on a brand new, or renewed, LG OLED!

Clarity like never before

Vizio P-Series Quantum PX65-G1 (Renewed)

An incredible TV that you'll love!

I've been reviewing the Vizio P-Series Quantum PX65-G1 for the past two months and I don't really miss my OLED. This Vizio TV is absolutely fantastic and 384 local dimming zones means you have stunning blacks and vibrant colors. This TV usually sells for more than $2,000 but is effectively just $1,250 for Prime Day!

Best 65" and higher 2019 TVs:

Big on a Budget

Samsung RU7100 65-inch 4K smart TV

Going big doesn't always mean breaking the bank. I mean, it does most of the time because big screens also get the big features. Samsung's budget screens come in big sizes, too, though. This one includes 4K, HDR, a built-in smart platform, and all for less than $700. That's a crazy good price for a TV that will look great in your living room.

Best 4K HDR TVs for PlayStation 4 in 2020

Shopping for a TV in 2019 can be confusing. There are so many options in a wide variety of price ranges. In the case of the PlayStation 4 — specifically, the PlayStation 4 Pro model — you'll likely want a 4K TV that has HDR, which makes for a sharper picture with a wider range of colors. That narrows the list quite a bit, but even then there are tons of options on tap. We've found the best TVs with 4K resolution and HDR technology that you can buy for your PS4 Pro. We've stuck (mostly) with just the 55-inch models here as they are the most popular.

Perfect blacks: LG OLED B8

Staff pick

LG's OLED TVs are the only ones on the list capable of producing perfect blacks. This is because each pixel on the screen can be powered on or off individually, so scenes with true black actually shut those pixels completely off. LG's latest model cuts down on latency enough that it won't affect your gaming performance, too. The TVs look great to boot and come with LG ThinQ, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa built-in.

Quantum dots: Samsung QLED Q9F

Not to be confused with LG's OLED, Samsung's latest 4K TVs use QLED technology, which is an LCD-based tech that uses "quantum dots" powered by LED lighting to create stunning pictures. We'll spare you the details on the nitty-gritty technical stuff and just say that the end result is absolutely amazing. And it's perfect for games thanks to its fast response times and, if Sony ever updates the PS4 to support it, AMD FreeSync. This model is 75-inches, so a little bigger than the other offerings here.

Tried and true: Sony X900F

Sony's X900F has long been regarded as one of the best TVs you can buy in the mid-range segment, especially for gaming. It doesn't use any fancy display technologies, just LED-LCD panels of extremely high quality and some of the best hardware and software processing technology on the market. Your PS4 games will look great in HDR, and they'll play great, too.

Excellent mid-range: TCL R617

TCL has become one of the most respected brands in the TV industry as of late thanks to its excellent budget-friendly TVs with features that are normally only found on sets that cost hundreds more. With the R617 you get 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, local dimming, and a great Roku Smart TV experience. Check all of those boxes for a price tag that doesn't offend your bank account.

How to get the Best TV Deals

Remember that Prime Day isn't actually a single day. While the bulk of the deals will happen in a specific 24-hour period sometime in mid-July based on previous events, there are still a lot of sales leading up to it and a lot of sales that follow after. So if you're looking for the best TV deals on Prime Day, you should be prepared for anything that might pop up that month really. In fact, considering how hard it is to actually get the fast-flying deals on Prime Day before they sell out, this might be your best bet.

For example, during Prime Day, which occurred on July 15 last year, we saw a huge sale on the TCL Roku TV lineup. These TVs were one of the hottest selling TV series of the last couple years because they combine affordability with a built-in Roku smart platform and decent image quality. On Prime Day, several versions from 28 inches up to 49 inches dropped to the lowest prices we had seen. Not even a week later, we saw another huge deal on the 40-inch version of the TCL Roku TV. It dropped in price and came with a huge gift card.

TCL wasn't the only brand making marks on Prime Day, though. Samsung has a huge lineup of televisions, and it was more than inevitable that a few of them would go on sale. The best sort of TV deal to look out for is on mid-range sets. These are the TVs that have 4K, maybe 4K upscaling, some decent HDR support, and a nice size on the diagonal between 40 and 60 inches. These are the TVs that aren't fully equipped with crazy-expensive tech like OLED panels or superior black levels but definitely won't disappoint. The brands to look for in this area are Samsung and Sony. Both brands sell TVs below $1,000 that come with great features including 4K resolutions, built-in smart platforms, and extra features that make them good for viewing in a dark room or playing video games. Specifically, check out the Samsung RU8000 and Sony X900F which should be seeing good deals this year.

Just before Black Friday 2018, Toshiba announced a new Fire TV Edition, which we saw some steep discounts on during the holiday shopping events. Odds are that Prime Day will bring some even lower prices to the sets, so you'll definitely want to keep an eye out. These offer Amazon's Fire TV OS built right in to a 4K LED. They come in a variety of sizes, ranging from 43 inches to 55 inches.
