I have several dozen mechanical keyboards, and I used most of the products Keychron released in the last three years. While the latest hall effect keyboards are pretty great and use magnetic switches to good effect, my favorite keyboard continues to be the Q1 Pro. There's a good reason for this — it's absolutely fantastic. It has a gasket-mounted design that has excellent feedback, and the bounciness along with the acoustics that you get are unmatched by any other Keychron product.

The best part is that the Q1 Pro is finally discounted; if you follow the keyboard category, you know that these things don't usually go on sale, so it's a big deal that you can now get the Q1 Pro for $146 on Amazon. This variant has Keychron's K Pro Banana mechanical switch, and it's an absolute joy to use. If you want a gaming keyboard with the latest magnetic switches, the Q1 HE has the same design and features, and it's available for $191 now.

Keychron Q1 Pro 75% Mechanical Keyboard: was $209.99 now $146.99 at Amazon

The Q1 Pro has all the features you need in a high-end mechanical keyboard. It has excellent build quality, it's a delight to use, and you can easily connect it to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth. As I said, I have dozens of keyboards, and the Q1 Pro is still one of my favorites.

✅Recommended if: You want a mechanical keyboard that's better than what you're using. The Q1 Pro has Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connectivity alongside USB-C, and it has a unique gasket-mounted design that makes it a joy to use.

❌Skip this deal if: You need a full-size keyboard. In that case, I'd suggest getting the Q6 Max. It has the same design and feature-set as the Q1 Pro, but you get a dedicated number pad, and it is now down to $191.

The Q1 Pro is built like a tank — seriously — and it weighs close to 4lb. It has 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connectivity in addition to the usual USB-C, and I routinely use it with my iPad Pro M4. It comes with the K Pro Banana switches, but you can always change these out as needed, and what I like the most about the keyboard is the unique bounciness — you'll need to use it to understand what I mean.

While the Q1 HE has newer magnetic switches that let you change the actuation — making a difference in gaming — it doesn't have the same feel to it. I still prefer the Q1 Pro in this area, and I now use it with Gateron's brilliant Ink Black VB2 switches, and the tactility combined with the bounciness of the keyboard is just a joy.

I know shelling out close to $150 on a keyboard is a lot, but unlike your phone, the Q1 Pro is designed to last over a decade. If you're ready to switch, I think the Q1 Pro is the one to get this Black Friday at $146.
