Xiaomi has launched a new version of the Redmi 3, the Redmi 3S, in China. The entry-level phone — which has a fingerprint sensor at the back — is available in two variants: a base model with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage for ¥699 ($106), and a version with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage for ¥899 ($136).
The Redmi 3S features a 5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 430 SoC with a 1.1GHz octa-core CPU and Adreno 505 GPU, 13MP camera with PDAF, 5MP front shooter, LTE, and a massive 4100mAh battery. You get dual-SIM connectivity, with the second SIM card slot doubling up as a microSD slot. On the software front, there's MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The phone will be sold in gold, silver, and grey color options. No word as of now regarding availability outside of China.
